ummm sex advice please if its ok

Ok need some advice please anyone on how to handle my dh.

We are currently 21 weeks pregnant and dh will not come near me as he is afraid of hurting the baby. He is afraid to go near my boobs incase of leakage etc etc.
In the meantime my sex drive is higher than it has ever been and its causing a few tense discussions.

I have tried explaining to him that i may be pregnant but i am still a woman and he says he just sees me as a mum right now and it puts him of!

Have any of you managed to have a succesful sex life during pregnancy or is this it? I resign myself to no action for the next 4 months?? How have your DH handled it all?? I know my DH is not the first to worry.

I have deliberatly not name changed as im not embarrassed about my situation im sure im not the first pregnant woman with this problem!

by the way communication is not an issue with dh and i we have been together many years just need some suggestions.

Well I do have a solid bump now! But I can still fit in all my normal clothes - well apart from my jeans anyway! But I am starting to think I need to look for some tops for work.

Congrats on having a boy! Your quite right we didn't find out - its going to be a surprise for us as my DH really didn't want to find out and I'm happy to wait until the birth.

I'm still fine - planning on giving up work in mid- December - well thats the plan anyway. Your starting maternity leave, is it next month you said?

Hi i have just read the comments and its so funny and so serious both at the same time!
i have seen some names that have flashed up on some other pages!
Myself and my dh had decided to not have sex until baby is born we agreed and was really fine with it, he has'nt bugged stressed me or anything and with the way i was feeling it was great! im now 22 weeks and the other day whilst he was sleeping i started to kiss and one thing led to the other and it was great!
Haven't done it since but he was like wow that was great the other nite! i just remind him the best is yet to come and he just has to wait for me to surprise hm again having SPD is a bit painful but i just dont want to neglect him. with my last child it was constant but much more tired and not getting as much sleep really doesnt work with me sometimes.

Its a shame sex is forced to stop because someones scared but explain how you feel no pressure!

Nope defintely not slim! I've got defintely got a bump and just been for my 24 week appt with midwife now weigh 71.2 Kgs. But I don't know what I weighed before!

We've started tidying the spare room but we've done nothing in it so far - no painting or anything. Hopefully we'll start that this weekend as we're getting rid of some bookcases from there.

71.2kg is fab compared to me i assume no idea what i was at booking in appt, no idea what i am now and not seeing midwife till 25 weeks!

We have not put anything up although we have everything and its all up against the wall for now, we have a 1 bedroom flat so baby will be in with us till hes older then we will have to sort other arrangements, we have applied for a transfer but were in no hurry its so lovely here!!

Im in wierd mode at the moment major tidy and clear up modes! Throwing out b its left right and centre and it feels great! I look at the cupboards and think oh they could do with cleaning, gah sod it will do on mat leave!!

which i start 2 weeks today!! How did 24 weeks appt go anyway? did dh go with you?? xx

iateallthecreameggsyummy - you r so lucky dont have a clue when starting Mat/L but hope it will be soon, i have so much to do and so want to move before this baby comes(im 22wks)
im in a 3 bed hse and this child will make 5 plus me and my dh so thats 7,its a tight squeeze anyway!

Mama were about the same then i think whats your due date? My little boys due 25th January.

I'm wide awake have been for an hour now! have cleaned the kitchen had a cup of tea, read some of my book and got bored so came on here!

DH is next to me snoring his head of and the dog got confused thinking its morning and is at the bottom of the bed snoring his head of too! lmao I meanwhile am awake......... and baby is to!

iateallthecreameggsyummy- you poor thing my sleep pattern is messed up im wake when all r asleep in my house and want to sleep when everyone is awake and making noise, also having this baby dancing on my bladder
my dh sleeps through me getting up like a yoyo at nite and it doesnt faze him at all i sometimes hit him in the rib just to wake him up and let him no how i feel!
the SPD doesnt help either so sometimes in pain, so hopefully will be leaving work sooner rather then later!!!
had my final scan today and dont see mw until nov! so feels weird, dont to be having constant care like with my other 2 DD but cool i will cope! im due on the 27th Jan !

Thing is, just as some women feel very sexy when PG and others are too busy being sick, some men are very turned on by lovely fertile earth mothers with bulging bellies etc (you could google 'pregnancy fetish' but this may not be a good idea if you are easily alarmed) and other men get very very hung up on the idea that the woman is a potential mother and there's a baby in there. So if your H is one of the latter group, all the scientific truth about it being non-risky (unless there are specific issues that you hve been warned about) won't make much of a difference, so that line about ' I'm going to be a mother for ever, so get used to celibacy then' is probably the best option.

horny little moments comes up more now,but sleep overturns any chance of any nookie!

hmmm...we had sex at 32 weeks and the next day I had a show! went to hospital for monitoring and was told it was due to sex so we haven't done it since and I am 39 weeks. yes I miss it but OH isn't going without. the whole sex in pregnancy thing is tricky isn't it?
