Bad Temper Hormones - Any cure suggestions

Hi,

I've just had a very tiring weekend - happily nesting by creating a pink heaven for my daughter. However yesterday and today I've noticed that my temper is ridiculously short. This seems to happen at various points in this pregnancy but its not very nice. I'm walking around with a frown on my face all the time. I growl and snap and have zero patience and can't be very pleasant company. My dm describes me as a spitting hamster and its fairly apt. Any advice/suggestions. Honestly its like PMT gone bezerk!

Go and have a pedicure! Always relaxes me and makes me feel more human

Jan de Vries Mood Essence. Safe during pregnancy and really works!

I posted the 'mood swings' thread on just this topic. IMHO, a lot of it's tiredness. And worry.

A break (ha!)is what people keep suggesting to me. Or, failing that, large amounts of nice food...

Sorry Wills, no remedies as I am also in the same boat. I have always been a pretty upfront person, but pregnancy makes me even more so. The other day, the only 2 people serving in the bank were umming and ahhing over a direct debit form with a customer.. long queue waiting to be served. This went on for several minutes until I said "Sod it, I'm pregnant, I can say what I like. Will you two decide which one of you is going to serve us please. There is a queue to the door while you mull over the fine print on that form." The guy in front let me go in front of him for my cheek and several people muttered well done/well said comments as I left. Normally I may have said something but I would of been embarassed and abit red faced. Not anymore.I have been told that when you are expecting a girl, your hormones are double PMT doses.. have no idea if it is true or not? Meanwhile, I am also expecting a girl and I would LOVE to hear all about your pink heaven pleeeaase!

Jessi the room is for my existing dd and she's three (no idea what the next will be but completely content with another girl because this has been a lot of fun). I made the mistake of asking her what colour she wanted her new bedroom to be and she responded with Brown and Yellow please (like the Brownie uniform). Knowing that she likes anything that is pink we went ahead with pink. Since we want to sell in 1 to 2 years time I was of course loathe to paint everything pink so instead we've used cream and then all the furnishings soft or otherwise are pink. I'm currently sewing Pink curtains with fairies (with silver wings). I've bought loads of fluffy pink cushions to go on the sofa bed that will unfortunately have to remain in that room. DH is off to argos tonight to pick up an "unfinished" chest of draws that will be painted in shades of pink and I've just ordered a mid-bed (i.e. about a meter off the ground) which again we will paint pink and I will make some curtains to go round the bottom (pink again) so she has a tent to play in. Tonight will be spent painting a re-claimed rocking horse (pink!). Like I said - pink heaven.

Interesting to hear about the hormones being worse with a little girl. I personally would say that my hormone issues are far worse this time round than last but I'm not sure my dh would agree.....

Er, Wills, where's the unfinished chest listed? I can't find it on the website and it's exactly what we're looking for dd here...

Its difficult but its listed under light wood Chest of drawers and is the Scandinavian range. I've after a 6 +2 drawer version and there are two listed there - if you order on line it takes 3 weeks but I think its faster if you order in store. Its cost is 79.99

Ikea also do unfinished chests of drawers - although if you're in 'pregzilla' mode (nicked that from someone on here) as I am, then Ikea could actually turn you homicidal.

My excuse is that it's tiredness and headaches (any safe cures for those?).

Wills thanks for enlightening me on your pink heaven! Sounds like lots of creative fun. Take care and good luck with the hormones.

bl**dy hell, this is affecting me too! I'm the moodiest i've ever been. I haven't spoken to poor dp apart from snapping at him for the last few days, the poor man made some passing comment that I took offence to on Monday. Please say this phase will pass soon.

I suspect it passes only to become the exhausted bad-temperedness of early parenthood, tbh.

Cake, I think, is probably the only solution.

cake I can do thanks motherinferior, at least you've made me smile!

For me it passes and I move onto the next stage.... A sense of insecurity and that nobody likes me.... Mind you the way I've been snapping heads off that might have nothing to do with hormones
