Know a good High-Risk Obstetrician in London area?

Hello there,

Just moved here from the States this week and I'm trying to locate a high-risk OB as we're considering having #3 (going for the girl). I'm high-risk due to a blood condition and need a doctor who specializes in high risk patients. I live in Surrey but would be willing to travel for the right doctor.

someone will be along in a minute to advise you, who's better informed than me - but living in Surrey, you will be able to access St George's Hospital in Tooting and possibly Chelsea and Westminster and St Thomas'. All have good high risk obs.

I used a wonderful obstetrician privately called Eugene at St Thomas', and he was brilliant - but I had two relatively straightforward pregnancies, so I can't talk from a high risk perspective.

Hi I saw a guy called Nick Nicholas at the Portland and he was fantastic. I also have a blood condition (very clotty blood) and NN worked alongside a haematologist (sp?) during my pregnancy to take care of that. If that wasn't enough, I also developed obstetric cholestasis and had a breech baby, so there was a bit going on and it was all handled really well. I'd been seeing NN for a few years after a cervical cancer scare before I got pregnant so I've seen quite a bit of him and thought he was really good - hence picking him as obstetrician. Good luck!

I was high risk and went to St Thomas' where I was under the care of both an Obstetrician (who managed the pg) and an obstetric physician (who managed my condition and liaised with cardiologists etc). The Chelsea and Westminister is also v good for high risk pregnancy.

I would recommend going to a large teaching hospital for a high risk pregnancy.

Mr Raj Rai or Professor Lesley Regan at St Mary's in Paddington. Both are gods so far as I am concerned.
