After 2 children, gaps between 2 and 3 (3 and 4)?

I have 18 months between DS and DD and was pondering a third child (on exceptionally good days, even a fourth!).

When I saw one of the local GPs a while ago he told me his wife was expecting their third baby and said 'After our first we thought we knew what we doing and then had the second and realised what hard work it all is!'. I think he had 18 months between the first two and then a gap of 3 years between the second and third children.

So I was wondering what gaps mumsnetters have between their third (and fourth) children? Planned ones really. There's 9 and 11 years between me and my siblings (I'm the youngest) but I was 'an accident' so not really a good example.

I have 23 months between ds1 and dd. 28 months between dd and ds2. when ds2 was born i had 3 kids under 4 and a quarter!!! lol

4 years between each.......something to do with the Olympics, I think! dd (8), ds(4), bump (due Aug)

mummy d respect! for that age gap.
Mine are 2 yrs 4 days then 22 mths. Had three under 4 (for a little while) which everyone gasps at but really it was fine.
At least I never had (ie never got used to the luxury of) ?no nappies? or ?no pushchair? like a pal of mine with a 4-yr gap.
I think if you are a SAHM it is nice to have one of the three at school, makes it a bit easier, but I loved my relatively small gaps. Wouldn?t have wanted much less tho because of the manoervability (sp?) aspect - ie if the toddler is 18mo-2yrs, at least they can walk from the car to the door while you manhandle the baby out.

beachyhead - im going to have 3 under 3. When in August are you due? i have 2 due dates, 27 july and 3 august.

there is 2.5yrs between 1 and 2
then a 9yr gap between 2 and 3 (!)
and now bump due 2.5yrs after number 3.
its like having two families really.........
