Also if your too tired towards the end of pregnancy just do most your shopping on internet. Simple and can be delivered to your door. .

teevee - have just checked - £150 with the stand, but only £48 for the hammock itself ( I guess you could hang it from a strong hook screwed into a ceiling joist)

Thanks everybody

i would get stuff a little earlier as it is possible you will drop early

LunarSea · 18/05/2005 16:34

You probably won't need it instantly, but we found a baby swing to be invaluable for saving your arms when they are going through that "the only way I'm going to settle and be quiet is if I'm continually moving" stage. With the added bonus that the hum of the motor seems to have remarkably good soporific properties!

hi sam

i never got a bump until i was about 20 wks pg, and even then it was not very noticable really.

im also pg with my first and im due in a week.
i have only just finished buying all the things i need (or think ill need) because it costs so much we have spread it over all the months, it could of cost alot less i think but as its my first i wanted everything new and all the nice expensive things that you can really do without.
heres my list:
pramcar seat
*moses basket
*cot and mattress
*cot beeding, mobile and toys
*baby bath and changing unit
*swing seat
*play gym
*bouncy chair
*baby monitor
steriliserelectric breastpump
bottlesbottle warmer
*pram sheets and blankets
*nappies for first 2 mths
*wipes and cotton wool
*baby toiletries and creams etc
*muslim squares
*baby towels
*clothes- vests, sleep suits, booties, bibs, hats, socks, mitts, and some cute outfits for going out.

i had a baby shower and gots lots of clothes and toiletries which was really helpful i would recommend having one.

congrtulations on your pregnany and i hope all goes well for you.

Bonym,

Are the hammocks on a spring? Wouldn't have room for the frame in our room but dp is quite handy so he could put a heavy duty hook up for it like you suggested. Or is the frame an important part of the up down motion?

rodeo1 · 18/05/2005 21:04

Actually frame doesn't look too big, seriously considering this one, bonym. Had moses basket for first 2 but they always ended up in our bed. But with cot death advice reluctant to do the same with this one. Do you have it your room? How much room does it actually take, do you put it next to your bed so you can rock it? Sorry it probably says all of this on the website!

Also apologise for hijacking your thread Sam116

bonym · 18/05/2005 21:20

Yes - on a spring - you MUST get one!!! Every baby should sleep in one imho - they are fab

We have it next to our bed and I can just reach out and rock it gently if dd starts to cry (which tbh is rare!). It doesn't take up too much space - our bedroom isn't huge. The website states that there have been no incidents of SIDS reported connected with sleeping in the hammock.

rodeo1 · 18/05/2005 21:27

Righto! Will tell dp when he gets home we must get one! Anyway with this being no3 we're not having to buy too much equipment this time round. Thanks for your speedy reply! Getting excited about it now - won't need it til late Oct!!
