Im pregnant, what do i do now?

Im 7 weeks pregnant and had a scan already at the EPU so the doctor said i dont need a booking scan now. But still got to contact my doctor and arrange a midwife.

What things do i need to organise and ask? Ive no idea! Help!

All you need to do for now is call to book a appointment with the midwife. When it comes to what to ask, she will lead the way and let you know what you need to know, just make a note of anything you want to know about to ask her.

not an awful lot happens or needs to happen for the first few months

you may like to research prams etc etc but some people don't like to do that sort of thing too early

one thing you can do is book some nice holidays/weekends/nights out - after the baby arrives it'll be ages til you have the time/energy/money to do this stuff again

You should still entitled to a 12 week scan... it's one of the milestones to check that everything is progressing as it should, so definitely press for one. I had an early scan at an EPU due to bleeding, but still got my booking scan.

I don't know where you're from and obviously things work differently in different parts of the UK. But here, after I had my early scan at 6+1 weeks, I made an appointment with my GP to 'confirm' the pregnancy and get onto the system. He then contacted my local antenatal hospital who arranged my booking scan date and further antenatal care.
