MATERNITY BRA for bigger breasts?

I am about a 34E, not massive but big enough to need good support. I have just found out I am pg again so dig my old maternity bra's out (they weren't that good last time), anyway, they are not really supporting much at all, I feel all saggy and uncomfortable.

They are the cheapish ones you get in double packs from mothercare and m and s.

Can anyone recommend some comfy supportive ones that hoist em up?

I am a 32FF, so feel your pain - don't even bother with M&S and especially mothercare whose bra's should be illegal under the trades descriptions act!
Go to Bravissimo and get measured properly they do a good range of supportive maternity bra's.
I also got myself an Anita feeding bra from figleaves. It is the only underwired feeding bra and I think when you have large norks, underwiring is necessary really if you want any kind of shape.

I second Bravissimo. I would continue to wear underwired until about 8 months though. I did that with DS2. Wish I had with DS! then norks would maybe be a bit higher up. Also bought rubbish Mothercare ones first time

Another recommendation for Bravissimo.

Also once you know your size, Sainsbury's currently have some nursing bras (2 pack for £10) and I've found them to be really supportive and comfy. They go up to large sizes too (I got a 34G so know they go up at least that high)

i got mine from Mothercare World. The ones i got was £22 each and it had brilliant support on it and hold my big boobs up when i was pg last year.

def get measured. I was wearing the wrong size for years. (Drastically!) I've bought a few Freya Rosalie bras off ebay recently in 32/34 FF/G, they're really good.

I went to m&S and bought a non-maternity super strength non-wired bra - they are really good and very very supportive.

definitely go to bravissimo, they are wonderful. they don't have maternity bras per se, but will recommend the ones which are more supportive with wider bands etc. i bought two recently and it was such a godsend. i hadn't realised i'd grown 3 cup sizes during pregnancy and was wondering why my bras were so uncomfortable!

i think you can make an appointment for fitting too, so you don't have to wait around. they do genuinely spend time wiht you to get it right.

I was measured a while ago, maybe 6-9 months ago... Could get measured again... I think I generally need to spend a bit more than last time whichever one I get! It's a bit difficult cause my nearest mothercare and bravissimo is 60 miles away...

is there a decent lingerie shop where you could go get a measurement, and then order a few from figleaves and try them? figleaves is excellent for returns. i lurrrve them.

From a 42H - I'd say Royce from Barvissimo and I also had the mirian stoppard ones (not too epxensive from Debenhams) and they were/are fine too.

bravissimo stock a freya or you can order them online if u have an idea what size you are. I have similar problems, but am holding out in my underwires till they dont fit any more, i have 3 months to go and gone up from a 30ff to a 32hh, its a nightmare! Good luck. depends where u live but have u heard of sadie the bra lady? u can find her online i think she has a few shops.

I am currently 8 months pregnant and still wearing my normal underwired bras. Wish i hadn't bothered with maternity bras when pregnant with DS.

I have an anita underwired feeding bra from last time and will be purchasing some more!

I've just bought this cotton underwired bra from Bravissimo (in a 30H and I'm only 19 weeks ) and it's fabulous, so comfy and brilliant support.

No backache now and they look nicely pert !

Thanks ladies, have considered underwired but am a bit wary of them as I read somewhere it's not good for the development of the milk ducts or soemthing like that. Had a bit of a bad time with bf last time so don't want anything to interfere with it this time iyswim?

Got some really good suggestions on here though, thanks!

i read somewhere that here is no evidence about underwired bra's and BF. It certainly didn't cause me any problems.

As long as you get a bra that fits properly then underwires will not cause a problem. You can actually get underwired feeding bras too now.

Oh I see, didn't know that. You think the advice is just cause lots of people wear the wrong sized bra so they just say not to wear underwired to err on the side of caution?

i think the issue is in the early days of breastfeeding breasts tend to expand and shrink with feeds and as milk builds up. this means your actual cupsize can fluctuate many times in the day. a soft cup is better for accomodating these fluctuations. what you don't want is the wires pressing on a full breast leading to plugged ducts and possibly mastitis.

imo, i'd go for a soft cup in teh beginning, and once supply sorted itself out change to underwired
