Physically do you feel much better? Obviously it's been uncharacteristically hot here lately, so I'm feeling slightly uncomfortable. But I find the worst is when I'm in bed, lying on one side or the other and I have to change position. I feel so cumbersome and it's such a production! Does that get better once the LO is out??

yes it does

McSnail · 29/06/2009 12:44

I asked a friend this who has recently given birth, and she said, 'Yes'.

Hurrah!

amisuchabadmummy · 29/06/2009 12:44

oooh yes, although the wobbly stretch marked stomach feels a little odd.

I had DS in August when it was roasting and it was such a relief, especially to be able to lay on my stomach to sleep.

StealthPolarBear · 29/06/2009 12:44

I did - stopped grunting when standing up / sitting down / going up stairs and putting on socks was no longer a two man job

McSnail · 29/06/2009 12:44

(I'm eight months and spent all last night watching Mad Men because I was so uncomfortable I couldn't sleep)

SNOWBall4girlz · 29/06/2009 12:44

it is so nice to be able to lie on your tummy again

hope everything goes well
congratulations

MerlinsBeard · 29/06/2009 12:46

hmm well yes you feel much better from a not being pregnant point of view and being able to move your belly and see your feet is quite nice but i have to say that the feeling of your "bits" hanging low and postnatal jelly belly and general feelings of being knocked over by a bus fatigue are not very nice either.

ButtercupWafflehead · 29/06/2009 12:47

I looked forward SO SO much to sleeping on my front.

I was, however, unprepared for what happened in the bosom department after giving birth!

Niecie · 29/06/2009 12:48

It does eventually - depends what you have done.

I had an episotomy which made shifting around difficult for the first week. Breasts which are uncharateristically large and dripping didn't make comfortable bedfellows either.

It does improve within a week or two though and you may not suffer the same way as me anyway.

Thanks everyone, these answers are making me LOL!

MumofMonsters - yes, I know that other bits will be uncomfortable...I guess I just feel so done with this bit, that any kind of different feeling, even if it's still uncomfortable, will be welcome relief!
