Hi - I'm coming up to 20 weeks (this is my first pregnancy) and while I think I've had a bit of the fluttering / quickening over the past week or so, I can't be sure and have definitely not felt any definite movements. Is this normal? When did you first feel your baby move and what did it feel like?

Feeling quite anxious so keen to hear about other people's experiences...

I first felt flutters at 16 weeks, but not every day, and only when lying on my tummy at night. To me it felt like when you go fishing and hold a container of bait--you can feel this little wiggling (sorry, I am weird in that description I think). It didn't really get to be kicks/prods until after 20 weeks, and it took until 25 weeks for DH to be able to feel it from the outside.

Now am 34 weeks, and am longing for the days when he didn't stick his arse into my lungs or poke his foot out of my side. A few days ago, I was holding some library books resting on the bump, and he nearly kicked them out of my arms!

It feels like it takes forever, but once baby really gets moving, you'll find it hard to believe you ever worried.

18 weeks. I was sitting on the bus and just felt this thud inside. None of the fluttering or bubbles for DS! It is possible that he was fluttering away before then and I just didn't feel it though.

The things that always got him moving were apples and orange juice. If I was worried I'd have a glass of OJ and a lie down and he usually started dancing!

Slug, I went to see NIN at the O2 last night. After a day of being battered from the insides, I thought I was in for more of the same throughout the concert.

However, the noise seemed to calm the infant down enormously. Now I know what to do when she won't sleep...
