Anyone had a scan like this then got good news?

My little sis is pregnant for the first time age 42 years.

She is sure of dates and should be almost 8 weeks by her reckoning. Had a bit of spotting today and was referred for a scan.

There is a gestation sac with a fetal pole but no heartbeat. Pole is only 2mm which is too small for that gestation. Sac is 12mm x 15mm.

She has to go back for rescan in a week.

Anyone has a scan like this then got good news out of interest?

Scans are not always what they seem. It was transvaginal so probably clutching at straws really

well a couple of months after an ectopic i tested pregnant then lots of pain, taken into hospitial, did a scan said they could see a sac but no heart beat, they kept me in for a week, then another scan which showed two sacs but only one heart beat, they kept me another week did another scan result two sacs and two heartbeats, so i knew at 7 weeks i was having twins, i really hope you get good news, but understand your need to think the worst.

Sis had scan today - baby has definately gone

She is relieved that she does not need to have anything else done and will try again after a few months.

I was so hoping it would be good news.
