Pregnant with my first and just saw the apprentice and they were working at a baby show at one of the arena's like the o2 arena.

Just wondered if anyone knew of any good up and coming ones. I live in Norwich but happy to travel and make a day of it!

You'd just end up buying far more things then need.

Does anyone know if there are any of these in the north west region, manchester etc. I fancy it too, although no doubt will spend far too much money!

Biglips · 21/05/2009 20:15

scratchet - only in birmingham that i know of

scratchet · 21/05/2009 20:26

How do you find out aout these things? Not sure my bladder will allow me to drive to birmingham at the moment!

Personally I think all these consumer exhibitions are an utterly pointless waste of money. I've been to Ideal Home (crap), Vitality (crap), One Life (crap). I only went to all of these shows as I got in for free.

It's true that you'll just waste money on crap you don't need, plus you pay far too much to get in, the food is horribly overpriced (£5 for a sandwich, anyone? ) and you'll come out no wiser than when you went in.

You're better off asking advice on MN - save your pennies and your bladder!

here u are but its not on till next year now. think youve missed one at bham.

or otherwise check out on nct website page on here

scratchet · 21/05/2009 21:06

Thank you so much. Those websites are great. This probably sounds stupid but what is an nct nearly new sale? Do i have to register to attend?

Hey, tanks for the info! Had a look around and found one at the Excel center in October and is £13 entry.

I don't think it's a case of having to go and spend loads of money it's just that it's feels all knew and exciting for me and i think it would be fun to have a wander round with my mum and sister in law. Am a little concerned about the bladder issues though ha ha!

I guess i just like window shopping..always have done so that kind of thing appeals to me!

Nct Sales are fantastic! You dont need to be a member to attend, although members get let in 15 mins before everyone else and there is usually a huge a queue - I wait in the car for 20 mins & usually get in at the end of the queue, not good standing still for more than 5 mins at the mo!!

The sales ive been to in my area are two types, one type you by from individual stalls bit like a carboot, and the other type, all the stuff for sale has been grouped into sections, so all prams are together, clothing is in sex & size etc, you then fill up your black sack and take it to a till to pay - alot more dangerous as you lose track of what you are spending!!

The big baby shows are all over now, but you might find a small locally organised one in your area, you could ask in your local independent baby shop if they know of any.
