Thrush in pg, am I wrong not to use the prescribed pessary?

Am 36+2, had minor bleed this morning (5p piece sized) so went to hosp to get checked. They scanned placenta and baby, all fine, did an internal and told me I have thrush internally and that my cervix was quite red which was prob where the blood came from. She gave me a pessary to use tonight but...

I had thrush for 10 weeks in my last pg and nothing other than birth shifted it. I used the pessaries but found they did nothing other than made me a bit more sore and as I am not suffering externally from itching and soreness, can I just carry on without using the pessary until I give birth?

I don't know; but in my experience, those things rarely work anyway.

You can I had thrush all the way through my last pg it never harmed my baby but there are things you can do that may stop it being irritating e.g cotton knickers no perfumed soaps and keeping the area dry the only thing that clears my thrush bit tmi is if I walk around with no undies and a skirt on. My friend however swears by natural yoghurt as this can restore the ph balance. The pessary might work and certainly won't harm the baby I saw a woman in early labor given one. The reason they like to clear it before baby comes is because if you have a vb with thrush the baby is likely to pick it up on the way out. Meaning the baby has white mouth which is easily sorted but if you are bf it can be transferred to your breasts. So if baby does get a white mouth when you get your thrush treatment make sure you get something to stop it getting in to your breasts if you are bf.
