I'm having the most terrible cramps and some nights it sort of feels like tingling, like they are going to cramp and then don't. I was told to take calcium before bed and it helps (also makes you sleep better which is a lovely side effect!)

Good luck!

i had that when i was pregnant. don't point your toes but push down into your heels - this helped alleviate pain for me but if it helps - perfectly normal for pregnancy - don't panic (bloody uncomfatable though)

uncomfortable that should have been

sounds like "restless legs" and cramps to me!

I suffer terribly from restless legs, if I do too much walking or not enough walking in the day it makes it worse, but it is hard getting a comprimise!

Raising your legs up also helps but my baby is back-to-back so again another comprimise for me!

With cramps you must straightenm out your leg and push your heel down - it helps if someone can help you - most men always seem to know what to do from playing sport as kids, so get DP to help you.

Bananas are meant to help too as cramps can be due to a potasium defieciency, but generally in pregnancy it is just the extra demands on your body from the extra weight and blood flow.

I'm also 32 weeks and suffer from the same thing- however I find excersize really helps- I only get it the 2 days a week I don't work out. However, if excersize isn't possible streching your calves before bed time and hamstrings also helps.

good luck

This can be a symptom of not enough calcium at this stage in pregnancy, try having a glass of milk,(or milky hot choc), or a yoghurt in the evening, and generally try and up your intake throughout the day. Cheese is always a favourite with me

i get cramps in my calves too (31 weeks)
midwife told me can be due to dehydration so just been taking a pint of water with me to bed. seems to be easing off.

I had this and it was horrible. Never did find a cure but it did stop the minute I gave birth.

So something to look forward to
