Where can I go to baby shops all in once place? SE London

Does anyone know where the highest concentration of baby shops is in the SE London area? (e.g. Mothercare, Mamas & Papas, Blooming Marvellous etc.)

At 8 months pregnant it's not easy shopping for things I'll need when all these places are so far apart!

Anywhere in the Greenwich / Lewisham / Sidcup / Oprington / Bluewater / Lakeside area would be good - SE London and Kent, really.

I know there's a Mamas & Papas and Mothercare in Orpington.

Gosh I lived in Greenwich with dc1 and ended up traipsing to Orpington! I totally understand your problem but can't be much help sorry, I did all the baby shopping online and got most baby clothes in places like next! I occasionally trekked into c.london/w.london!! Have since discovered a babiesrus store on the old kent road but it's not massive, lots of buggies, safety equipment and bedding etc for newborns though.

Bluewater has a Mothercare, Blooming Marvellous and John Lewis (who I think stock M&P's) Before DS was born I did a lot of my shopping on line with Glasgow Pram Centre They were very good.

john lewis no longer sell m&p

Katie's Playpen in Blackfen is a good shop - they have a website too, have a look. (They also repair prams - in case you need that later on!!)

For baby basics, I would head for Bluewater you can get pretty much all you need in John Lewis, but there is also a Mothercare and for little broody clothing purchases - Baby Gap, Next, Blooming Marvellous and M&S.

Greenwich has some not cheap baby type "organicky" shops (e.g. Green Baby, So Organic)but nothing in the way of baby basics. Lordship Lane similar, with a Jojo Maman Bebe. Not much in Lewisham - small M&S and a Mothercare and Next.

Croydon is good for the standard high street shops if you can venture that far - has mothercare and mamas and papas in the shopping centre in the middle of town (which I think is called Whitgift?), huge mothercare world with parking on purley way as well as a babies r us across the road.

Thanks everyone. It seems there's a market for a retail purely park full of baby shops! Will give Purley Way a go one day when I'm off on maternity leave as haven't ever been to a Babies R Us.

Think I've got most things now but it's just annoying when I want to compare products. Bought crib mattress and bedding from Bluewater John Lewis today but would have liked to 'do' all the major shops together.

Ah well, shopping here there and everywhere will give the new pram a run for its money when the baby arrives...

Lakeside has a large mothercare and babies r us in the toys r us store just a few doors down - they are in the retail park area rather than the main indoor shopping place at lakeside.

Bluewater is very close to Lakeside in reality so you could easily do both in the same day. Likewise the Mothercare and Mamas and Papas at Orpington are both easily accessible if you visit Bluewater. Parking at Orpington can be a bit nightmareish if you go at busy times, even though there is a large car park.
Bluewater and Lakeside usually easy to get parked unless Xmas/Sales time.

Argos do quite a good selection of baby things these days, as do Boots too. Argos is at Lakeside, Boots is at Bluewater.
