it's lovely! Some things seem a bit too difficult but there is lots to recommend it. Several of my clients have used it and swear by it.

Am off to bed so can't answer any questions. Sorry!

I read it but found it a little dry to be honest, and I read a lot!
I kept feeling it was aimed more at medical professionsls than at pregnant women.

Really Blondie - so you don't think its worth looking at?
MarsLady - what are the benefits would you say?

Yes yes yes from me
I loved it - could no way stick to the diet regime but it is very enlightening and informative especially if you are open/familiar to alternative therapies, homeopathy etc. My friend and I were pg at the same time and we both got the book and even went on to buy her labour kit and also birthing CDs and both had great labours - mine was 13 hours, no pain relief necessary and only a bit of intervention at the end with the ventouse. I also did yoga and the breathing exercises and CDs just got me in the right head space to deal with labour. I have since lent the CD to a friend for her 2nd birth and she loved it and had a good labour too.

Could all just be a fluke but I am a fan

Good luck

Not for me really. I think you'd be better getting Ina May's Guide to Childbirth. Really prepared and empowered me for the lovely birth of ds

Thanks all...really useful!

The diet was the bit that my clients found hardest. One of the Consultants at my local hospital used it and had a wonderful birth.

The ones I know that used the Gowri method felt empowered through their births and they all laboured beautifully, even the one who ended up with a c-birth.

I love Ina May!

Sorry, been without internet!
I wouldn't say it's not worth looking at, all knowledge is power as they say, I can lend you my copy if you like.

I didn't like it
To follow it thoroughly you need loads of cash and time for all the treatments etc
I also think homeopathy is bunkum so I probably shouldn't have bought it in the first place
