That's me. Oh god...One stone...at 15 weeks.

Feel a bit panicked. Has anyone else put on this much weight so early. Any chance I won't end up putting on 4 stone or something.

I had really really awful morning sickness only alleviated by constant eating of crap. Hope I can turn it around. I look really huge and bulky but not pregnant yet.

The best tip I can give you is NOT to weigh yourself at all during the PG!! This is what I did with both my DCs - I just stared into the middle distance when they weighed me at booking in and never weighed myself at home. I then waited a full sixth months after the births before stepping on the scales - by which time I was back to normal weight!

This took lots of will power (I actually gave our scales at home away) but was so relaxing in the end, I didn't feel under any pressure and just tried to listen to my appetite throughout and only eat when hungry. I found it easier to be "sensible" when I had no fixed figures in my or stressed out voices saying "OMG, you've put on 4lb this week" etc

Thanks christiana, I'll have a look for those DVD's I think. I decided last night not to buy anymore rubbish and if I really want it I have to go out and get it which means I more than likely won't bother. I'll have a look for that tea as well.

I had put on at least a stone by my 12 week scan with all 3 of my pregnancies. Basically, I just went up a clothes size before I started showing (normally size 8-10 and just went up to a 12 and then into size 12 maternity clothes). I had a huge appetite and eating more helped with the sickness in the early days. Didn't eat lots of rubbish but had massive portions of what I was eating, and didn't stop myself having treats if I felt like them, whereas when not pg I do tend to be more careful about what I eat. Basically, I made sure that I was eating lots of healthy stuff and enough fruit/veg etc, and then allowed myself the other not so good things if I wanted.

I put on 4 stone each time (at least that actually, stopped weighing myself when it got scary!), and took about 5/6 months to get back into old clothes each time (which is when the early pregnancy larger clothes came in handy . DC3 is 10 months now and am in my 8-10 clothes but have a few pounds to shift to get me back where I was in weight.

I found I looked full term by the time I was about 7 months-ish, but then didn't really get bigger. I think that is just my pregnancy 'type'. I have friends who do the opposite and look all tiny and neat until the last 2 months and then suddenly expand!

I expect you were fully clothed, had had something to drink and had your breakfast? Please don't panic! I really do know how you feel, I've been worried about my weight gain too but have reached the decision that stuff it, I can't do anything about it so there is no point me beating myself up about it.

You ought not to diet during pregnancy as it is bad for you and for your baby (predisposes them to obesity) and as you're feeling better and not eating so much crap now, hopefully your weight gain will slow down but if it doesn't, it doesn't. There'll be plenty of time to lose any excess weight after the baby is born but as long as you don't go into manic baby-wants-pizza-baby-wants-cake-baby-wants-chocolate mode you should be fine! Try to snack on healthy things such as fruit or celery rather than crisps or biccies but other than that, stop worrying!

MG i thought i was de only one who got huge during preg! Its nice to know im not de only oneout there! Im six weeks gone on my second child and not showing yet but feeling bloated and was looking up ways to stop myself putting up loads of weight! I was massive on my first! A nurse in de hospital even had de cheek to ask me am i normally this overweight and i was only 20weeks gone but in fairness i sat on my bum all day with my feet up eating... this time its different already cos i hav to get up and about and go with my 2year old... but i would appreciate it if anyone had tips on how to maintain a healthy weight during this preg!

I've also put on a stone in 16 weeks. My nana kindly grabbed my thigh and told me it's a lot harder to lose at my age. I'm trying not to panic but was already a 12/14 before the extra stone!
