I am usually a size 8, now a size 10 at 11wks, just. I am putting on weight around my waist, especially at the front, but sides as well, but not thighs really. Boobs a bit bigger, not huge but again probably a size 10.

I have just exhausted myself shopping in town, what a nightmare! I bought a few things I am not happy with, and a couple of things I am happy with:

I am keeping:
two plain vest tops (not maternity but longish), one red, one black.
Black jogging/yoga bottoms for the house/lounging
Nice top for work.

I desperataly need the following:
One pair jeans
One pair black smart trousers for work, prefer wide bottomed
Tops, just some pretty ones that do not look like a sack, or some t-shirts.
Dress, maxi or empire line style. But nothing too flash like wedding type, just nice enough to look pretty out of work.

I really like some of the jeans in topshop, but they are out of stock, in my size both in the shops and online.

I don't want to spend a fortune as I might need to buy more if I get bigger.

Help fashion ladies?

I am so disheartened that all I bought was some bloody joggers!

Well I don't know about you but I can stick my tum out to at least a 7 month bump so maybe that's the way to go! (or take your own cushion with you...)

I think you do have to buy bits as you go along. Things you wear now will be good for the post-baby bit.

I know that with 1st pregnancy i gained a lot of weight and it was all over but this time (3rd pregnancy) it seems to be more on bump.

Newlook have nice long tops (stretchy) that aren't maternity and h&m worth a look.

I quite liked the gap jeans but found most of their stuff just too voluminous.

Tracey, yes i think you are right, will need to add as i go along...with dd, i wore one pair of lovely red herring trousers for work, and the rest just wore hipsters and a couple of dresses, hardly put on any weight, and just a little bump. This time, think its going to be a lot different

Do you think these would do well to be taken up by a couple of inches, or would the flare be lost too much? I really like them and they are cheap!

I got lucky and bought maternity stuff online at Next in their winter sale over Xmas. I'm size 6 (sorry was) and inside leg 29". I bought under bump jeans which needed a belt up until a couple of weeks ago (now 25 wks preg), also got some combats. Glad they were all in the sale cos now I find the over the bump type trousers so much more comfortable - also from Next (white linen). I'd suggest getting a bump band for the early stages, which means you can still wear your usual trousers but leave them undone and cover with the bump band. I started a thread a few days ago about a Bump Hugger purchased on Amazon (very comfy) but somebody mentioned the bands buy 3 for £10 at New Look.

I'm not going to pay out any more for maternity wear. You might want some comfy knickers a bit later, but again I went to matalan and bought bigger knickers rather than fork out £10 for pk2 (Mothercare).

Happy shopping
