i've visited my midwife for the second time today and really dont have any faith in her what so ever ! she seems to know nothing and just fills in paperwork , does'nt really even make conversation or anything !
I dont know if i was just spoilt with a really billiant lovely midwife with dd1 or if i really do have concerns ?
I've had pre-eclampsia with dd1 and i've expressed my concerns already about developing again and my blood pressure is already high and all she keeps doing is refering me to a gp appointment which is with a doctor i dont know always in a few days which means i have to take another day off work and all they say is to come back again next week because they are reluctant to put me on meds this soon ( only 10 weeks )

meanwhile i have a constant headache and my midwife has told me to go see her in 4 weeks !!! says gp will deal with blood pressure but nobody seems to
sorry for the rant
do you or could i ask to swap midwifes ???

i would definitely try and swap if you can. perhaps try speaking to the head of midwifery if you can, and just say you don't get on with the current MW etc. i think it's fair enough if they are going to delivery your baby that you need someone you are comfortable with.

i didn't really like mine, but luckily she just got a new job, so i'll get someone new (hoping she's slightly better!)

do you have a good doctor? sometimes i find going to speak to them is more useful for immediate issues/concerns.

no i always see a different doctor every time i go theres only one good doctor there and she's always booked up about two months in advance !
i did'nt know if you could ask to swap and/or if the other midwife would find out and want to know why ? [hmmm]
our local hospital is good but the doctors is rubbish

Swap if you think you would like too, simply address a letter to the maternity matron asking for a different one. You can give loads of detail, or none, as you wish - and it will happen.

It happens and is not usually a problem. Hth and happy pregnancy!
