Can anyone help me, should I take Ginger Capsules or Baby aspirin?

Hi
I'm currently 6+2, last year I had 2 mm/c's and a CP after seeing a recurrent m/c consultant they found nothing wrong and I was told I could take baby aspirin next time I was pg, they couldn't conclude it would necessarily help but it wouldn't do any harm. TBH I think its more pyschological for me as I feel I'm doing something. Anyway I've been taking it since BFP, but now ms has kicked in and my SIL gave me some ginger root capsules to take, which seem to be working, but when I "googled" yesterday they said the two shouldn't mix as ginger is a natural blood thinner.

So do I abandon the aspirin, in favour of the ginger which will do both, possibly? Or do I carry on with the aspirin and get motion sickness bands (which aren't as good) or does anyone know if I can take the two together.

Thanks
Mollie

Hi mollie if i was you i would carry on taking the aspirin, avoid the ginger root capsule and use the motion sickness bands.
Hope someone with more advice on ginger root capsules comes along soon.

I would be inclined to continue with the aspirin, as the ginger root isn't a pharmaceutically tested drug (ie is it tested to check that there is enough of the active ingredient to have the same effect as the aspirin, and that each batch is tested to ensure it is all the same quality IYSWIM) Re taking the two together, it's worth asking your pharmacist for futher advice, as they are the ones who will have more specialist knowledge re drug interactions.

I agree with the others.
I would chose something which has been rigorously tested in clinical trials. And do not combine them, no.

Thanks guys, think I'll pop to a chemist today and see if I can get some more advice.
I've only taken the aspirin today, no m/s so far
