29 weeks - is it supposed to be THIS uncomfortable?

Am 29 weeks. Midwife has written twice in my notes that baby is "ceph" - which I think means head down, although she has never had a feel, so not sure how she can know this.

On the other hand, I am pretty sure baby is not "ceph" at all, I think she is transverse because of where I can feel punching/kicking and because on the left hand side of my belly there is a definite "lump" of baby, although I can't tell if it's a head or a bum.

What I do know, though, is just over the last week or so, when she has been moving (and her scans confirm she is a right little wriggler) I can definitely feel limbs of some kind - and it's not comfortable AT ALL. I have a low placenta and am carrying her low, so it's not like I am getting it in the ribs, but I do feel like she is trying to burrow her way out through my belly. I wouldn't say it hurts, as such, but it's definitely uncomfortable and at times, makes me catch my breath.

Is this normal? And (tell me, I can take it) how much worse is it going to get??

Perfectly normal and, I'm sorry to say, its gonna get worse!

I remember complaining how uncomfortable I was at 29 weeks. 3 weeks later, I had no idea how uncomfortable it was going to get!! And imagine someone will be along soon to tell us both to just wait until 35, 36, 37, 38, 39 and 40 weeks!!!

I was told our baby was lying transverse at my last midwife appointment, she's been that way since before 20 weeks. At my last scan, she was transverse and face down, and it wouldn't surprise me if she was still that way as sometimes her kicks feel like a foot could pop out of my fanjo! Really is uncomfortable, and embarrassing when I suddenly grab my crotch in a "Oh god I'm gonna pee myself!" fashion in public

I'm 40 weeks on Saturday and actually it has been a bit better in the last couple of weeks now baby is descending - but yes, it's bloody uncomfortable and normal. It doesn't really get that much worse though because athough baby gets bigger he/she has less room to move and build up momentum for the big kicks
