I know parma ham is out of the Q, but what about smoked raw duck?

I should know this, it being my third pregnancy, but whilst I know you should avoid parma ham, what about smoked raw duck? I assume it's also a no-no, but since it's so damn tasty, I was hoping otherwise....
And blue cheese that's been cooked is ok, isnt it?
And utter, utter, utter sed loads of penny sweets?? I assume I can eat as many as physically possible, the only issue being that I'll look like a blimp at week 4..??

I am pretty sure smoked duck falls in the same category as parma ham. I tend to cook parma ham when I am pg (wrapped around fish, on pizza etc) so I still get to eat it even if it is not so nice.

If you cook blue cheese does it get hot right through?

Penny sweets fine, unless you develop gestational diabetes!
My firstborn is made out of starmix.

Wow, a Starmix baby? how cute! Yeah, I figured teh whole kilos of penny sweets wouldn't exactls be the best think to be eating, but I really, really, really need to eat marshmallows right now. Sigh. No duck then. Of course as I didnt realise I'd get preggers (being on the pill) I havent eaten all my quotas of carpaccio, bloody steaks, parma ham, french cheeses.. and that REALLY is annoying. Now I have to wait another darn year. Sigh. Oh... and chocolate mousse... ARGH!

Why can't you eat chocolate mousse? The supermarket versions will all be pasturised.

There are lots of really nice melons around right now and when I crave sweets I eat a load of that and it takes the edge off!

When I go into labour the first thing I will do is go to M&S to get bread, pate, brie etc. I will then scoff the lot the second the cord is cut. Sigh. Only 26-28 weeks to go!

Well I suppose I was thinking of properly made chocolate mousse, rather than the tubs from the supermarket. Must stock up on those instead then.. . When I had given birth to DS2, a now greatly valued friend came to the hospital with a food hamper - full of blue cheese, fresh bread, chocolate mousse, salami and parma hams. Twas divine. She really knew what to bring a new mum! Forget babygrows, I wanted pate!

I saw somewhere just after my last pregnancy that you can get pasturised brie and this is ok to eat so I will be hunting for it this time around. I guess that means there must be a blue cheese somewhere that is pasturised - if anyone can find it it looks like they will be pretty popular...

Parma ham is fine, and other smoked things as the smoking process kills any bugs the same way cooking does.

choc moussse due to raw egg yolks i guess

The Food Standards Agency website has really good explanations of why certain foods are and aren't ok. It says cured meats (eg Parma ham) are fine.
