is this normal to have braxton hicks style tightening at 20 weeks pregnant? iv noticed them quite a lot the last few days usually when iv been standing or walking for a few hours without sitting down, was wondering if this is normal at this stage?

Someone else asked this a few weeks ago and was reassured that it was normal.

Another MN said that she had her baby prematurely though, which got me worried!

I asked my MW about this as I was worried and she told me not to worry. They have died down. Was having so many at 20, 21, and 22 wks. back to the odd tightening here and there now.

think if it's your 2nd or 3rs child more likely to get them too.
So, don't panic but see a MW if worried.

Perfectly normal to have BHs from day 1.

Concerns would only arise over frequency. If you have more than 4 in an hour that is the time to ask advice from a MW.

I've had them from about 15 weeks. I take it as a sign my labour is going to last all of 5 minutes cos my contractions will be so flipping strong.

I've got them and have had them since about ten weeks. MWs just said to be conerned if they get regular.

They are not pleasant, and I just want to go for a long lie down every time, but obviously not practical.

I've had them since 15 weeks, this is my second baby. Didn't have any until much later with DD. I find touching my uterus while its hardened makes it stay harder longer so just breathing deeply and relaxing usually makes it go away quickly.
