38 weeks and so bored! (A Moan)

I am huge and uncomfortable and stuck at home with a lively 2yo. All the local toddler groups are closed for two weeks and I think I'm going to go out of my mind with boredom!

Have been waddling to the park but get too tired and out of breath to walk far. Anything like soft play etc is going to be hideously busy.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Not in the same boat, but I am disabled, and last year was virtually unable to move for ten months. Try reading or finding a new hobby - I took up crochet. Hope you find something to occupy you both soon! x

Yes me too. Can I moan too please? Am 36 weeks but will be induced at 38. I have had so many problems with this pregnancy, previous loss at full term and now gestational diabetes (or probably I don't have full blown GDM but have to do the diet with six blood tests a day)

My best mummy friend and her family (and DS's best friend who he's missed soo much since they both went to nursery this term) are ill so we can't meet up. Have lost my old network since DS started nursery, so don't see the folk I'd normally be arranging to meet up with etc. etc.

I can't go anywhere much - if my bladder is even remotely full I can't walk cos I'm in agony with the baby resting on it so outings to the park are severely time limited. Most of the time the diabetes diet leaves me so hypoglycaemic I daren't drive.

No chance of doing crochet or reading with a 3yo around, ErikaMaye. All DS's activities are high maintenance and hard work and really I'm fit for nothing right now. But we are struggling through the days with Lego and painting and reading endless stories (unfortunately DS has just developed a complete craze for Letterland which I find really dull. Am begging him to go back to Beatrix Potter. Hey ho)

Yep, me too - just over 38 weeks and I've had enough now. Thanks for the ride and all that but I'd like to get off and be able to lie on my front at night, enjoy a glass of rose and of course meet my baby!

Annoyingly I've managed to convince myself that it's going to be early as I'm fully engaged and have been for a week so I don't think that's helping.

I'm lucky in that DS goes to nursery three days a week but even so, there's only so much cleaning, reading and mumsnetting a woman can do in a day.

I've taken to cooking a meal for the freezer once a day and sleeping for at least an hour at lunchtime. Of course none of this is possible when DS isn't at nursery. On those days it's business as usual - bloody knackering!

I could have gone for an elective c-section (due to previous em c-section) but have chosen to try for a VBAC. Now I'm wishing I'd gone for the elective as I'd be having it late this week/early next week and it would all be over. (grin)

Im in same boat too , im 37 weeks, and have been feeling like a lump for ages now, have had a show, and few contractions which tailed off to became nothing. Had mw appt yesterday and she said baby is 3/5, and it could be anytime now. Ive not got a busy 2 year old to run around after [not sure id have the energy], but do have a 6 year old, and 11 year old, that are home from school. Decided to take them out for the day tommorrow, bowling and something to eat. I onestly feel like im having the longest pregnancy in history, feels like its gone on forever. 2-3 weeks time [or less if either of us is lucky], we would have forgotten about these feelings, and be feeling unbeleiveably blessed with our bundles in our arms.
