I am 25+2 today and the baby has been moving since about 12 weeks. I haven't felt anything since I had a spate of really long and strong braxton hicks last night. I have tried laying on my side and having a cold fizzy drink but it hasn't worked. Is there anything else I can do to get the baby moving?

is it not worth getting a midwife to check things out?

systemsaddict · 05/04/2009 09:59

Call your midwife or delivery suite for advice - almost certainly nothing, baby probly moved position with the BH, but they might just want to double check.

Chocolate ?Cold drink ?

brettgirl2 · 05/04/2009 10:08

I found at that stage that if my tummy was sore or bloated (which it may be after BH) then I could feel less.

If you don't feel something soon though you should definitely get it checked out.

poppy34 · 05/04/2009 10:10

agree wiht others that feeling could be a bit intermittent as was easier for dd to move out of positionw here I could feel her but I'd call mw for proper advice.
Tried chocolate?

Thanks,
I will wait for DH to get up and then have a bath. I suppose it is all very possible that the baby has been moving while I have been asleep .

When I was pg with DD she never seemed to stop kicking and moving, this baby seems to move more than kick IYSWIM. I have had very strong BH's for ages with this one as well, anything set them off.

Icy drink? portable radio on your tummy? I used to go ages without feeling Ds. Our maternity ward were always very happy to wire me up to a machhine where the little graph would be going reassuringly bonkers and I still wouldn't feel a thing!

iMum · 05/04/2009 10:19

orange juice, sugary food or just firmly push your tummy-if still no movement go tpo fetal assesment as it is best nit to take chances.

alittleteapot · 05/04/2009 10:40

I always used to go for the icy drink option (poor dd) - usually got her wriggling quite quickly. If still nothing agree with others better to be safe and get checked out.

orangehead · 05/04/2009 10:55

Icy drinks are probably the best. But it is best to get checked out
