Please can one of you settle a little discussion we're having here at work - is it possible to get morning sickness at 2 weeks pregnant? My DD is 7 now and I can't remember that far back!! I think mine didn't start till about 2 months though..?

Loubeelou... would that be 2 wks from conception? My morning sickness started at 6wks pregnant which is 4 wks past conception.

Sorry if it sounds a bit dim but how come 6 weeks pregnant is only 4 weeks after conception?

Because pg is measured from the date your last period started, ie 2 weeks before you even conceived.

Cos you count from first day of last period, most people conceive 2 weeks after that. So you are 4 weeks pregnant when you miss your first period. I was defo being sick by then, carried on for another 37 weeks!

Coz your date starts from the 1st day of your last menstrual period....that's not when you conceived. In a normal cycle you conceive around 14 days after the 1st day of your LMP.
A pregnancy is 40wks from LMP, but 38wks from conception.... as most people can't really pin point when they actually conceived it is dated from your LMP. Does that make sense??

Ah, forgot the first day of last period thing.

So, if a baby is on time would you count back 38 weeks for the 'real' date they got pregnant, rather than 40?

38 weeks back from the due date given to you by the MW/GP will be around about the time you ovulated... they measure it on a 28 day cycle though. Mine is 31 days!

Sorry, this probably all sounds a bit odd!

I will explain - a friend of a work colleague is apparently a bit of a story maker and claimed to be a certain amount of weeks pregnant. We were just discussing whether what she said could be true.
