hello kiyaabigail!,you have a bigger risk of twin to twin transfussion because you have one placenta.the treatments for this is aminodranage (the fluid is drained every couple of weeks), and laser treatment to block the blood vessels (seperates the twins supply to the placenta) this is done between 15 and 28 weeks.you should get extra scans and check ups so try not to worry too much as it is quite rare .,the best thing is to just take care of yourself. exercise , rest when you can, and eat!...a good thing is to try and remember the calorie intake for a twin pregnancy is much higher than you'd expect.you need five servings of dairy products ,just to make sure you have enough calcium for your babies!twins are always smaller,so if you eat loads you will have bigger babies, and as they most likely will be born early(37 weeks is term for twins)it will help a lot... you'll get them home sooner!congratulations !join TAMBA ,they have fab info on all things twin.

hi

Do go and post on the Multiples topic as you'll get more personal experience on there, and also be able to get some more general advice about a twin pregnancy. I'm expecting twins (but not mo-mo) and I've found that a twin pregancy is different from a singleton pregnancy (you are more tired, it progresses faster, symptoms can be more pronounced) so it's worth reading lots about twins, not just about the things specific to your type of twins.

I echo the point about joining Tamba - this is a very common question on their message boards, so you can find lots of advice and experience there.

The Multiple Births Foundation is also a good source of information.

Finally, find out (through Tamba) if there is a twins club in your area. I've only just discovered mine, and wish that I'd done so earlier in my pregancy as then I could talked to to RL twin mums much earlier.

Good luck!
