Help! I'm starving but surely I should curb the calories a bit!

am 31 weeks with first baby. The received wisdom seems to be that I need an intake of about 2,300 calories by this stage. I'm hovering around that mark, usually a bit more, but I'm starving. I'm eating good quality stuff; fish, veg, fruit, wholemeal everything.

I lost four stones a couple of years ago through calorie counting and exercise, and I kept it off but always had to stick to about 1800 cals a day afterwards otherwise it went back on almost immediately.

The whole weight gain thing is distressing me, and I feel torn between eating when I'm hungry and sticking to the 2,300 calories mark. I know excess weight will have to come off somehow afterwards, and I'm growing quite nicely, I just wondered whether anyone else feels a bit stuck on this subject and what to do for the best.

My poor dh is sick of me feeling so fed up about the food issues, I thought I'd bother you lot instead!

I am 17 weeks pg and have put on a stone already! I always feel starving when I'm pregnant and let myself eat what I want. My justification is that I spend the rest of my life watching my weight (Reasonably successfully - am five foot five and usually nine and a half stone) and this is the one time of my life that I'm allowed to be fat.

Mind you, I wouldn't listen to me - I put on four stone last time. It took me nine months to get it off and I swore I wouldn't let that happen this time - but am I heading towards that again?! Not sure - Is a stone at this stage a lot? I never suffer ms so don't manage to lose weight in the first three months... should be grateful, I know, but do sometimes wish I could have that head start!

I think I've put on a stone too ragtaggle. Haven't looked since twelve weeks when I'd gained 8lbs. Much bigger now at 18 weeks. I think each boob alone must be a couple of pounds heavier at least.

I'm nearly 18 weeks and have put on just under a stone. I'm constantly hungry and craving sweet things (ANY sweet things) despite not really having a sweet tooth usually. I was convinced I would lose weight because of giving up alcohol but it just hasn't worked out that way. I am worried about losing the weight after the baby is born particularly as I was a bit overweight to start with, but I figure if you're constantly hungry you should just go with it but try to eat healthy stuff whenever possible.
