Seated, def. You can always stand up if you want.. Much to everyone elses disgust!

pavlovthecat · 22/03/2009 12:32

Would you pay £50 more for two tickets that the face value price? I want to take DH for his birthday. We have a DD and this will be the last time we will be able to go to see them for a long time, as it is easier for friends to look after our 1 DD that a DD and a newborn later on.

supersal - yes, I know. Oh they just give me goosebumps thinking about their music!

On the one hand I am thinking, stand and I can always go to the back if I need to. But other hand i am thinking, sit so I am less likely to get knocked about...

I usually do standing through choice.

I went to a few gigs where standing was the only option when I was pregnant and I was fine. Suppose it depends on how well you are in general though but if you're ok why would it be a problem? I'd just go with your preferred choice.

purepurple · 22/03/2009 12:47

sitting down for gigs is pants

standing is always better imho

SuperBunny · 22/03/2009 12:57

Sitting - that way you get the choice.

I went to see U2 the night before I went into labour. Someone was smoking weed and it made me feel really sick so I spent most of my time lurking by the door at the back.

HeinzSight · 22/03/2009 13:03

I'm going to have to start a similar thread soon!!

I booked tickets [ages ago] to see Take That in July, then discovered I was pregnant. I'll be 38 weeks on the day of the concert. They're standing tickets, I've suffered with SPD with all my other pregnancies and was on crutches at that stage with my last.

WHAT TO DO???

ps i love Kings of Leon too!!

pavlovthecat · 22/03/2009 13:05

38 weeks! You are crazy!!! Well I personally think you are crazy to want to see Take That!!!!

Definitely go for seated - you can alwasy stand up later (most people do anyway!). Went to plenty of gigs when pregnant with DS1 and DS2 and did standing through out with DS1 and early in pregnancy with DS2 before learning my lesson - seated is definitely much better when pregnant (and you get to see more too!)

kayzr · 22/03/2009 18:13

Seated. Then you can dance all you want but still sit down if you need too.

I am so jealous!!!

spicemonster · 22/03/2009 18:16

Heinz - there are usually disabled seats somewhere off to the side - can you ring the venue and see if you can get put in one if your SPD is really bad?

And pavlov if you think you're likely to be going to be feeling fine at 4 months then I'd go for standing because it's more fun.

mosschops30 · 22/03/2009 18:18

Im going to see Coldplay at 8 months pg, and thats standing tickets.
Hoping someone will take pity on me and let me go in the VIP area

Beccabump · 22/03/2009 18:53

I am sooo jealous especially as Caleb is my current pregnancy crush!!!!

shell96 · 23/03/2009 08:18

I went to see The Feeling at about 4 months and had a good bop around and then The Enemy last weekend (35 weeks). Standing tickets for both but in a smallish local venue. The Feeling was ok although my legs got sore but last week at the Enemy although i enjoyed it i was really uncomfortable before the band even came on and v protective of baby as i had much more of a bump than before. Some over enthusiastic dancers behind me took the hint after getting my elbow in their ribs!!

Jojay · 23/03/2009 08:32

I saw Guns 'n' Roses when I was about 6 months pregnant, standing at Nottingham.

It was fine - when it got a bit crazy I just stood back at the edge.

Enjoy

HeinzSight · 23/03/2009 11:36

spicemonster, I was wondering this. I may contact them soon, the sooner the better I guess. We're going as a group of 4.

HappyTangerine · 23/03/2009 13:24

I'm seeing the Doves live in Edinburgh at 18 weeks - will be going for standing but probably move towards the back. I saw the Verve a while back and was right at the front but it got a bit too pushy for me at times-much better when moved half way back.

I bet Kings of Leon will be fantastic live-v jealous of you!

brettgirl2 · 23/03/2009 13:54

At 4 months you'll be fine! Best part of pregnancy.

piratecat · 23/03/2009 13:57

i hate being seated at a gig. I saw Kings of Leon a few yrs back, you can always stand near the back (best sound imo anyhow).

I went to a gig at 7 months, and i had spd, but it was fine.

chocolatebunnies · 23/03/2009 14:00

I went to see The Darkness (i know its shamefull, but its was 3 years ago and I wa young!) at 4 months pregnant and was standing, no problem at all, I made a conscious effot to not plough into the middle and stayed quite far to the back, but i was fine, if you start to feel tierd you can always sit at the back on the floor, with the worn out drunks!lol!
Subsequently I went to Download Festival at 6 months pregnant, stayed the whole weeked, saw Metallica, Slipknot etc etc and I was fine, spent the majority standing!
You'll be fine, am very jealous, hope you have an amazing time!!

Queenoftheharpies · 23/03/2009 14:57

I am 4 months too and stood through The Enemy last night no problem - although I'm not much of a dancer at gigs any more anyway so it didn't feel any different from usual.
