I am only 13 weeks but I had been feeling little flutters and movement.

But haven't felt anything for a few days now, even when i poke or give my tummy a wobble.

Is is normal early on to have days where you don't feel any movement???

There is so much room in there when you are 13 weeks. You wont feel all of the flutters and movements. It is very normal, please don't worry at this stage. i think the only time you need to worry is later on the the pg when you dont get your 10 movements. IIRC it is from 30 odd weeks that the MW will have you counting movements.

When I was pg with DD (my first) I felt her move at approx 15 weeks and then not again until I was 18 weeks. Even then it was on and off.

Do you have any other reasons/symptoms to be worrying about this? Is this your first?

I heard you didn't really start feeling movement until about 16 weeks.

Saying that, I'm 20 weeks now and I haven't felt a thing. This is my first.

This is my 3rd. Felt DD move about 18wks and then DS about 12 weeks.

I don't have any other reason to worry apart from the fact that I am really paranoid about something going wrong with this pregnancy.

I didn't feel anything until about week 18, then hardly any movements for a few more weeks. It was strange at my 20 week scan because I could see it moving loads but couldn't feel it! I am now 30 weeks (with my first) and feeling it move on and off throughout the day. x

This is my 4th and din't feel movements until 20 weeks. At my scan, was told I had anterior placenta, which means all movements will be cushioned, so they won't be as strong.

SobranieCocktail · 26/03/2009 13:19

memoo - I'm in a similar position. Started feeling movements (definitely not wind or my imagination!) at about 11-12 weeks (same as with DC2), then it all went quiet. I'm now 16 weeks and haven't felt any discernible movement for yonks (the odd very questionable blip once or twice a week, but that's it). I have a doppler though, so haven't been freaking out as I've checked in every few days for a wee listen.

It's odd though cos this is my third and I was definitely getting more noticeable and regular movements with DC1 by this stage, and she had an anterior placenta Hey ho!

I was sure I'd been feeling stuff around then, really positive - like a slippery fish squirming, then nothing til 17 weeks, when bubbles returned and I thought it might be movement, now at almost 20 weeks I know it is. I can't explain what happened inbetween!!

VerityClinch · 26/03/2009 14:41

How often are you supposed to get your 10 movements? Is it 10 every hour?

Mine can be quiet for hours on end and then kick up a complete storm, and I could get 10 in the space of 5 minutes, having had nothing for the past 6 or 7 hours.

Is she just messing with my head?

babyblue3 · 27/03/2009 15:09

You should get your 10 movements in 2 hours. But they tell you to check the same time every day, when bub is most active.

Nabster · 27/03/2009 15:12

10 movements in 12 hours but that is usually when much further on.

Any change - increased or decreased movements need checking out.
