Maternity Wear

Hey guys, I?m a fashion student in Southampton doing my masters project on maternity wear and consumer behaviour. I thought this would be a really interesting area to target as my sister was pregnant last year and it was a nightmare trying to find her fashionable, comfortable and affordable clothing.

So if you have time to take a quick survey for me, takes less than a minute, I would be so grateful but it would be really interesting to hear your views on maternity wear in general.

I'm trying to come up with a concept and marketing strategy to help better this market as I think there is lots of room for improvement.

Well thanks for your time in reading this and any help is help Good luck with everything.

Done, good luck with the course and I second dizzydixies comment!!

toomuchpicknmix · 17/03/2009 20:29

done!
yes please nice stuff like Zara - decent price, not frumpy/WRONG
also more mat nightwear

BabyBump2B · 17/03/2009 20:35

Oooh what a great idea - I'm currently working on an article about maternity clothes and how the world seems to expect women to give up looking nice and sexy when they get pregnant. I still want to look like a woman and not a tent!!!

LaTrucha · 17/03/2009 20:41

Maternity wear - Enough black and grey already.

Tamlin · 17/03/2009 21:21

Also, no gigantic floral patterns or pastel stripes, for the love of God. I'm an adult, not a cast member of 'In the Night Garden'.

One other thing - it's jolly difficult getting maternity trousers in more than one standard length, despite the fact that tall girls and shorties get pregnant too.

dizzydixies · 17/03/2009 21:26

ROFL Tamlin - I pretty much looked like Oopsy Daisy throughout too

larger ladies get pregnant as well as short and tall ones too

lucyec · 18/03/2009 10:18

I agree dizzy... and if you're large and tall like me, you're confined to all things black / grey and sack-like.

I'm due in June and not looking forward to a summer in black... I want some colour in my life!

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 18/03/2009 10:32

Done! Would be interesting to kow the results if you have time to update us when it's done!

dizzydixies · 18/03/2009 14:26

lucyec have you tried the New Look 'inspire' range? its for 'larger' ladies and you might manage something there that won't break the bank?

I've had 3 summer babies and spent those summers in black sacks too!
