Labour after an MC

Ok, probably a really daft question here.

Is labour after an mc like having one after already having given birth?

It was an mmc and was at home rather than medically dealt with. The placenta was about the size of my hand, so obviously things had to open up and stretch a bit!

I realise a baby is rather a lot bigger, but I'm curious now and had to ask (even if I'm being stupid!!)

If you mean is labour after a miscarriage the same as a second labour then no, it wouldn't be. The stretching etc would be far greater.

I suppose what I was really wondering if it made any difference at all... ie would it make it a teeny bit shorter!

err no- no way orry even having had a baby before wouldn't necessarily make it shorter second time around. Usually but not always.

I wouldn't have thought so. I had my dd after a mc and it was bloody sore. I had my ds after another mc (at 12 weeks) and it was much, much, much easier - but I'm pretty sure that was because it was my second "live" baby and had nothing to do with the mc.
