I'm just sitting her one the sofa and my left hand is completely numb. Sort of tingly and stiff.

I am 24 + 5.

Any thoughts, anyone?

Carpel tunnel?

Tee2072 · 08/03/2009 12:30

Would it just pop up like that? It now feels fine, BTW.

baby laying on something

I second brettgirl2 - I have the same, wake up every night unable to feel my hands. Midwife says carpal tunnel, and it will go as soon as the baby's born.

Tee, I have had this loads in this pg, GP told me it was carpel tunnel syndrome and that if it gets really bad there is a split that I can get.

Maybe a splint is something to look into.

hold it up above your head, and wriggler your fingers.

It's cos you've got a load of fluid sitting on the carpal nerves in your wrist, and cutting the blood supply off. If you hold it up, the fluid will drain out a bit and then when you bring it down the blood will pump back in.

Thanks all. I was thinking carpal tunnel, but it was all of a sudden and then just went away!

Does carpal tunnel do that?

Last pregnancy I had completely numb and swollen fingers in both hands. Used to drive me mad. I was concerned that it did not disappear straight after giving birth (made doing up babygro's challenging) but by week 10 it had gone completely. Didn't mind too much as I got away with no morning sickness.
