that you can have a bit of bloody mucus after sex, but it doesn't mean anything bad usually

I spent 5 hours at my local EPU yesterday as this happened to me, my midwife had referred me. When I explained to the MW at the hospital what the problem was, she asked if I had had sex in the last 48 hours, I said yes and was sent home relieved but a bit miffed that I didn't know this already, this is my 3rd pg.

Poor you, that must have been really scary

FWIW I only know things like that from mumsnet, so you're not alone. Validates the fact that I spend about 50% of my waking hours on here also

it happened to me the same as you, with dd - not all the time though, so the first time was really awful...

I get shocking bh's too, thought that was labour last time too!

I'm sure I read that it could happen in What to Expect When You're Expecting. When I had a bleed at 9 weeks, I was at the EPU and the MW was talking to us after the scan. She said there wasn't any apparent reason for the bleeding, and I said 'and it's not like we even had sex or anything!' She grinned and said, 'well we know you've done it at least twice' (this was 2nd pregnancy).

But do think they could have saved a bit of time and worry by your MW asking you if you'd had sex before sending you over there!
