I know there are more important things to worry about but....My first DS was born only 13 months ago and now I'm 5 months preg with the next and am watching my belly with concern. No marks as yet but I haven't exactly been keeping off the brownies and cheese sandwiches! Now I'm beginning to regret it.
Did you get belly stretchmarks? Did anyone not? what are your success stories, apart from oil etc which I use on a twice daily basis. How the hell to people ( I know I shouldn't compare) such as Melinda Messenger have three kids and a great non stretch marked belly afterwards? I'll do fat free macrobiotic wheat free everything til the end of the preg if I have to. Have hardly starved the baby of fat so far.
Come on then...your stories!

Agree with what has been said that it is largely down to fate and genetics must play a major part. Fingers crossed I will avoid any this (fourth) time as I have, so far, been stretch mark-free. None of my babies has been enormous (7lb 3oz, 8lb 8oz and 6lb 10oz) but I am not big myself so putting on around 2 stone each time feels quite a difference to my normal body. I have been using Palmers Cocoa Butter (anti stretch mark version) religiously each time, but I always use the normal Palmers Cocoa Butter on my body after showering anyway.

I had so many last time that I hope not to get any this time round. They look like the stuff you get round peaches

Low point of labour last time was when the MW asked when I'd had my appendix out - it was just a HUGE stretchmark!!!
