Throwing up without warning

I've been lucky so far, hardly any ms but I'm 32 weeks pg now and twice now (last night and a few weeks ago) I've just thrown up with no warning - feeling a bit ill one minute but no worse than other times (mostly due to acid I think), then suddenly I'm chucking up with barely time to get to a sink. Really worried it will happen at work or on the bus. Also last night I wet myself at the same time - lovely. Really worries me that I can't tell when it's going to happen. Any suggestions??

Hello,

Try eating very little and often and working out what are bad foods for you acid wise which seem to make this worse...

I've had similar but not actually been sick but felt like I was going to and had to swallow a lot to stop myself. Think mine has been result of squashed guts/ stomach, excess acid and usually after eating too much
(too much for being pregnant anyway!)

Im 37wks and bad news is that as baby has got bigger, the heartburn issues have got worse.... hope you can get it under control.

Good luck...

I've had morning sickness all the way through (now 31 weeks) and don't go anywhere without an empty ice cream tub with a lid.

Leftangle - I have not yet admitted this but I too have had the vomit/wetting myself combo! I share the shame with you. I was alone at home (thank God) when it happened to me....and I too worried about it happening in public. There was NOTHING I could have done to stop either. Anway, I too am 32 wks...and this happened to me around a fortnight ago...on the positive - it has worn off and hasn't happened again.

The suggestion to eat little and often is a good one and has helped me. Otherwise, I'm afraid it may have to be sanitary pands, a pair of spare pants in your handbag, a handful of freezer bags for the sickness and a pack of wet wipes.

Ah - the joys of pregnancy!?

Flirty30 - well wouldn't wish it on anyone but glad I'm not the only one. Spare underwear already in bag and will try eating less and more frequently - think I do feel worse when I'm hungry. Just wish I could distinguish feeling "ok I'm going to throw up now" from the usual "feeling crap but it will proablably pass". Oh well, only two months to go.

I'm doing the puking and peeing combo too! So heartily fed up of clearing up my own body fluids!!

And let's just say he car needs a very thorough valeting....

Anyway, have you tried Gaviscon for the vomiting? I do think it helps. I also found that drinking tea is a big risk factor for me - dunno why, poss the tannins.

Good luck

Oh I totally agree that you get no warning either.

I was like that from 6-21 weeks of this pregnancy and still occasionally now too at 26 weeks, I constantly have a supply of nappy sacks in my pockets just in case the nausea creeps up on me again. It's horrible, I empathise it's weird because I don't have heartburn, I don't know what sets it off. Was never sick, only felt sort of car sick with my first baby.
