Have name changed as very about this.

Am 24 weeks pg, cannot get to sleep at night no matter how hard I try. Only thing that helps is having an orgasm (not through sex either by self or with DH stimulating).

  1. am I weird?
  2. am I potentially going to bring on early labour doing this most nights
  3. why do I sleep after orgasm but not without??

HELP!!

I don't think you're weird because of that, but I don't actually know the answer to the other two questions as I'm also pregnant with my first child (24wks as well!).

Don't panic, though, I'm sure some experienced mothers will come to the rescue soon

And, enjoy, in the meantime

It won't bring on early labour! Maybe some Braxton Hicks, but nothing else. The prostaglandins in semen only work when the cervix is at a certain level of 'ripeness'.

You're not weird!

The sleeping will be through all the relaxing endorphins flooding through your body

(Hope you're getting cuddles after!!!!!!!)

JemL · 24/02/2009 14:00

No you're not weird!
And it WON'T bring on early labour!
I speak from experience

Waiting2Exhale · 25/02/2009 00:30

it is probably a boy....high testosterone levels in the body does this...I too speak from experience and had a boy .

Be comforted by the fact that you are not alone...

oh goody not just me

Mintyy · 25/02/2009 16:57

Someone else has already said this but I bet you're having a boy!

Lets just say my hormones were very different in my boy pregnancy to my girl pregnancy and I know where you're coming from (pardon the pun).

cantbelieveimadmittingthis · 25/02/2009 20:53

Sorry just had to trim my hairy palms before typing this message

Thank you for your comments. It IS a boy, so that theory is interesting!!

I am just worried about prem labour, my poor little man must be having a bumpy ride in there!!! Pg insomnia sucks.

I had this for about 10 days and had a girl, with my DS it didn't happen.

PuzzleRocks · 25/02/2009 20:56

Um, I was like this with DD and this pregancy which is also a girl so don't be too sure it's a boy.

logrrl · 26/02/2009 16:59

on an additional note, can anyone suggest somewhere I can find details on "positions" in the later stages of pregnancy? I thought there would be bound to be a thread on it in the archives, but I'm not managing to come up with anything-surely there must be someone out there attempting acrobatics that don't bring on heartburn

loooouise · 26/02/2009 19:58

hahahhahaha. I had three orgasms today, and I'm 24 weeks pregnant and - erm - single.
Stress release!

Naat · 26/02/2009 20:26

LOL Loooouise! hahaha
Enjoy the stress release

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 26/02/2009 20:29

It definately does not bring on labour. I wish it did though. My two were lazy blighters and both stayed put. dd1 until she was ten days late and dd2 needed drugs to help her make her move.

logrrl doggy or woman on top.
