Hi 37 weeks pregnant with hb level of 10.4.
I feel ok ish- normal 37 week pregnant feeling I think esp when living with a 3 year old too!

Have refused the iron tablets as I have heard all sorts of horrendous things about them.

Is this correct or am I risking mine and my babies health?

Thanks

ok ... so could the ferasday I am taking be the reason for sporadic vomiting??? I am 36 weeks, and have been throwing up off and on since January (..... not long after I started the iron) ..... did not put 2 and 2 together .....??

Scarlet A - I'm a vegetarian and I didn't take any iron in any non-food form and I was fine.... Its only after 4 months of heavy bleeding followed by 2nd D&C that I needed to boost levels (from a 7) and got them up in one week to the level they hoped for in 3 weeks based on eating lots of iron pills... can't be bad.

It was the constipation and black poos that got to me, mistle. They worked but it wasn't nice...Not sure if they cause vomitting though - I would get that checked out madigan

I would welcome some Iron tablets now, they certainly don't make me constipated!

as long as your MCV doesn't drop you are not anaemic!

lilymolly · 25/02/2009 19:01

thanks again everyone
going for spatone/floradix tommorrow.
MCV was normal so I am NOT convinced I am anaemic, howver I am knackered, but hey I am 37 weeks pregnant, so just presuming thats normal.
Thanks for all your advice
