Swollen fingers - do I need to worry urgently?

I'm 29 weeks and my fingers seem more swollen this morning - my fingers have always swollen up towards the end of a pregnancy and I've never had pre-eclampsia. Had a midwife appointment on Monday and all was fine.

We are supposed to be driving up to see my parents this afternoon (massive all weekend undertaking which I'm not looking forward to at all) so it would be dreadful/impossible to try to get seen today. My instinct is that this is normal and I feel knackered because I'm knackered and my bloody unhelpful parents never come to see me and I really really really don't have any spare energy to make this trip.

But what does everyone think? My midwife has been awol since December (locums) so wouldn't be able to talk to anyone who knows my history etc.

Anyone? Am feeling a little better now so don't plan to contact anyone, unless lots of people post to say I'm being massively negligent.

if they swell up more over the weekend is there anyone you can see easily in your parents neck of the woods? Maybe take your notes with you just in case?
I'd be inclined to phone midwife & run it past them but I have had fluctuating BP so they've been hammering home how any swelling has to be taken seriously.
Maybe if they insist you come in, it will get you off the hook for the drive & you can spend a relaxing & unexpected weekend at home!

Thanks, superjump. The swelling has actually gone down now so I don't know what I could tell them. I'm definitely taking my notes (super complicated pregnancy but for totally unrelated reasons). Am totally fed up with it now. Being high risk means they always haul you in for every little thing but I am NOT high risk for pre-eclampsia. It's why I didn't put it in my OP, because I wondered what would happen with a normal person.

No chance of getting out of this trip. DH is like a man possessed and he IS right, DS shouldn't be deprived of a relationship with his grandparents just because they can't be bothered to visit him or me. (And before anyone screams, they do frankly gobsmacking mileages for their own pleasure but won't come to see us because it's "too far.")

Hope you're feeling good again today mrsboring. know what you mean about getting fed up with being hauled in for every little thing. I know we should feel grateful they're being thorough (& I'm trying!) but it just winds me up & makes me feel really anxious. So over it! Have a nice weekend

Oh thanks, Superjump. Actually had a moderately/completely rubbish weekend - but at least I know that the swelling was down to me coming down with the mother of all colds and am now no longer worried about that (just the tissue mountain that is my house)
