Am undecided whether to use mattress used for previous 2 DC's for no.3.Does everybody else buy new one for each new baby? Also is it worth paying extra for spring. The foam are so much cheaper.
My last little boy has a flat head one side would this mould the mattress in any way it is a spring one cost £80 4 years ago.

FSIDS do NOT recommend a new mattress for each baby - I have directly contacted them myself. As long as you use a mattress cover and the mattress has no indententations from previous baby - I have a sprung one then its fine. I've got a new moses basket mattress as its foam and been in the loft for a while.

Yep also buying new, cheaper foam for the baby but also having to buy another mattress for my toddler after the rubbish Purflo gave up the ghost supporting his weight at two (despite claiming to support an eight year old )

Foam is fine for babies but a toddler needs a sprung mattress really.

i had a foam one for my second baby and wished i'd spent an extra £20 or £30 tbh by the time she started jumping about on it - it was split by the time i thre it out.
This time I have bought the mothercare amicor spring anterior mattress which is kind of in betweem sprung and foam - it cost £50 which I think was worth it
