Hiya just looking for some advice

I am planning to breastfeed my baby which is due in june and I found a 'feeding set' on littlewoods website for £99 breastfeeding set

Do you think this is a good deal for the items you get in the set?

Nope - don't bother wasting your money when you may not need any of it. If you're planning to bfeed all you need is a pair of boobs, some muslins and maybe some breastpads. Wait until you really need the other stuff before buying it (unless you've got loads of money and just like buying baby stuff, of course )

I have that breast pump, and i didn't think it was any good, another wonderful MNer sent me an electric one which i got far more.

TT bottles are good for BF babies IME, and the steriliser is nice too, quick.

Althought i found that expressing wasn't needed until at least 6 weeks postnatal.

Blimey what a rip off I would save your money. I found the Avent Isis a good breas pump but I have to say I have hardly expressed at all with ds- with dd I expressed religiously as she started ful time nursery at 8 weeks old so I had to have a good supply of milk frozen. Do you know you will express? Even of you do I think the majoriy of that stuff could be bought much cheaper. I got my (brand new) microwave steriliser from a charity shop for 2 quid. And it has never been used

I bought alot of avent stuff (steriliser, IQ pump and some bottles just incase I needed to express) and I had to use it for the first week (DS wouldn't latch) I think you should buy a pump, few bottles, different flow teats and some milton tablets. That will be enough in an 'emergency', unless you are specifically planning to express? With avent it means you can run out and but a new teat etc. @ a 24 hour tesco or something (V.handy IME )

Sorry, ISIS pump - the IQ is the steriliser! It was excellent

Thanks for your replies!

I am planning to express, but I suppose I have some time before baby arrives before I need this stuff...

thanks again

Yes, def leave learning to express until after you've learnt all the essential things, like caring for your new baby . Learning to bfeed can be complicated enough as it is, without make things even more difficult by trying to do expressing too!

That looks really expensive to me. TK Maxx had loads of that tommee tippee stuff in atm really cheap. I thought the bottles were really good, but you won't need that many if you are planning on breastfeeding.

I preferred an Avent pump.
