I've heard that there is a healthy eating grant now at 24 weeks of £150. a friendtold me about it, and said it's for everyone regardless of benefits, financial position etc. I'm 31 weeks and have neverheard of it. Anyone else know about it?

its for people whoses babies are due after April 09- that may be you is it?

I missed out as my baby due in March

conkertree · 10/02/2009 20:32

think its £190 and you get a form from your midwife (although a lot dont have the forms yet) any time after 25 weeks i think. you have to make sure you claim before the baby is born or you miss out, and if you claim just now, you wont actually get the cash until April I think cause its just starting up.

differentCupID · 10/02/2009 20:33

you get it if your due date is after APril 6th

conkertree · 10/02/2009 20:33

oh and its due date after 5th april so that due date is in the next tax year

conkertree · 10/02/2009 20:34

sorry cross posts - 6th not 5th as differentcup says

I had ante-natal App today - midwife filled out a simple form, which you add your details to. 190 quid is then yours. It is called a Health In Pregnancy Grant - and conkertree is right - you have to be at least 25 wks gone, live in UK. It doesn't state when your baby is due, so not sure about that.
Hope that makes sense.

Also, just to say I think you have to claim within a month of your midwife signing the form otherwise there's a chance you won't get the money so you need to be quite prompt.

It might be a case of chasing your midwife about it as well as I saw mine at 25 weeks and she never mentioned it.

Happy spending!

I am due April 12th - I asked MW the other day she hadn't twigged that I qualified. You have to claim before your due date (within 4 weeks of form being signed). My MW still didn't have any forms so I'm also still waiting.

Yes, most midwives are only just getting the form. HMRC won't accept forms that aren't RECEIVED by 31 days after issue. This means that you have to allow for the post. They are secure serial numbered forms also, like prescriptions, so I don't think you can have another if you lose it.

Pay out isn't until the end of April.

shelsco · 19/02/2009 20:50

doesn't sound like they really want you to have it! no one's mentioned it to me and time's ticking on. i think i'll ring and ask about it tomorrow. thanks.

I think it depends on your local trust. I've seen posters and leaflets on this all over the place, and it was my midwife who raised it with me.
