i woke up last night after going out for my tea and was vomiting.. was slightly worried i may have eaten something dodgy and the baby wasnt moving too much.. i went back to bed and woke up thismorning feeling fine with an extremely active bump lol... i went to sit up and felt a shooting pain shoot right up my vagina (ive had these before but not as strong) and felt a kind of pressured feeling in my lower back and pelvis and now i feel really heavy underneath and like i cant sit down too much.. is this normal for 35 weeks or will i probably deliver early?? xxxxxxxxxxxxx

am not qualified, but wanted to bump for you. I'd say call your midwife and have a chat. I felt "heavy underneath" once the head had engaged. I had a pressured feeling in my lower back when labour started with DS2. But really, you could do with phoning your midwife/GP.Let us know how you get onxx

I felt like I was carrying a watermelon between my legs from around 35 weeks last time. Plus I remember feeling pressure pretty much anywhere below my belly button to the tops of my legs anytime I tried to move.

I think it's just the sheer weight of the baby/placenta etc. ( but I did have a ten pounder) However I'm no expert so I would check with the midwive.

COuld head have engaged as a result of the vomiting? Could be sitting low down in pelvis now..

goodluck

Awwww mum2b don't panic!!

It sounds like little one may have decided to enter your pelvis and engage. I seem to remember that with my first 2 babies. The shooting pain you mention (for me anyway) was the pressure of the head against the cervix. Felt awful as all the pains in my 'lady garden' were really intense. My MW at the time said it was a 'good sign that things are working down there ready for birth'!

Was baby already engaged at the last appointment you had? If so then it may be wise to ring the AAU or MW and just be checked to be absolutely sure all's ok.

All the best! x

the head was in the right position but it wasnt engaged when i went so see the mw last week. im due to see her a week today do you think i need 2 give her a call? i feel like im sitting on something if i sit upright so iv tried to stay off my feet laying back lol (great excuse to do nothing tho) xxx

it does sound like the head has just engaged then, very uncomfortable! However, I'd give your midwife a call, explain the sickness and shooting pain etc just to be sure and then you won't spend the week worrying.
