Hiya,
Sorry this is such a stresfull time
I'm no expert about this, but I believe even if you are not employed you'll be entitled to maternity allowance from the government as long as you have paid tax, which is the same amount as stat maternity pay and lasts for as long.
(Hope this is correct!)
Best of luck, hope you get it sorted

You will get Maternity Allowance. (I got it for my last pregnancy even though I left my job before I knew I was pregnant iyswim so if you're already 3.5 months you'll qualify for it). It's the same weekly amount as SMP but you won't get the x weeks at 90% of your pay or whatever it is.

You claim it thoguh your local jobcentre but the forms are online and you just print it and post it in.

To qualify you have to have worked for 26 weeks within the 66 weeks prior to your EDD. So you qualify. You need to download form MA1 from the internet, or ask your local jobcentreplus for one.

You will need to submit your BEST 13 weeks' payslips with forms MATB1 - available from your midwife after week 20 of your pregnancy, and MA1 (the Maternity Allowance form) to the address given on the pack (it differs according to where you live) when you are 26 weeks pregnant.

If you aren't working when you are 29 weeks pregnant, your Maternity Allowance HAS to start at 29 weeks. If you are working, you can delay Maternity Allowance start date until you leave work for Maternity Leave.

You will get either £117.18 or 90% of your average pay, whichever lower, for 39 weeks.
