God know why it is called morning sick because i have it 24/7 at the moment.

I have tried eating dried biscuits but unless i am constantly eating i feel so sick all i want to do is lie on the couch all day.

I had dreadful morning sickness and took vitamin b6 which was an absolute miracle! I stopped actually being sick and the feeling of sickness diminished enormously. I checked with my doctor before doing it. I took 50mg at first but played around with the dose to find what level suited me.

I'll have to try that mousey, it has just knocked me off my feet

i had terrible nausea and morning noon and night sickness... try the seasickness bands - they helped me survive my commute to work. and just keep eating little and often. I couldn't face anything healthy for the first 12-14 weeks and had to graze constantly to stave off the vomiting - oat cakes were quite good as a healthier alternative to biscuits. weetabix went down ok as well (if with lots of sugar).

ooooh - and lucozade sport (the orange flavoured still one) - i practically lived on that when i couldn't face food...

pavlovthecat · 08/02/2009 19:14

travel bands, dry biscuit and a sip of water before even attempting to get out of bed in the morning.

And, for some reason, fruit, in particular grapefruit and yoghurt. I ate a significant amount of fruit and yoghurt throughout my pg, but weirdly, it had to be cut up and made into a fruit salad, then mixed with the yoghurt and eaten a bit at a time

melon was about the only thing I could eat for the first couple of months

going into food shops was hell
I could smell EVERYTHING even the tinnned stuff lol

madwomanintheattic · 08/02/2009 19:17

eat.
eat.
eat.
and then eat a bit more.
from the minute you get a blue line until about 23 weeks.
then buy gaviscon.

Def keep nibbling and fizzy drinks help me burp it better!

memoo · 08/02/2009 19:46

DP had to make dinner today because the smell of cooking made me retch.

Thanks for all the tips

I eventually realised that drinking water was making me much worse and often precipitated puking. Switching to fizzy drinks, mostly fizzy water, really really took the edge off the nausea and I wasn't sick again at all afterwards.
You never know, it might help you too.

Sounds daft, but I found keeping busy helped. If I rested I felt dreadful and was sick as soon as I stood up, but I was much less likely to be sick if I kept active.

Also, eat constantly-don't ever get hungry

Ceebee74 · 08/02/2009 21:46

What worked for me was Foxes glacier mints - I had to have a supply with me at all times and I found sucking one of those when the nausea got really bad took the edge of it. Of course I can't look at one now

memoo · 09/02/2009 19:10

I got a packet of foxes on the way home from work tonight and it works!!! and so does drinking fizzy pop

I found wine pastilles great last time but have looked everywhere and can't find them so am now alternating between wine gums and fruit pastilles...strange that I don't usually eat sweets. I know that ginger is supposed to be good but I can't stand it except in ginger beer. Sainsbury's own has sugar instead of aspartame so we've stocked up on that

charitygirl · 09/02/2009 19:23

Scratch a little bit of the skin of a lemon under your fingernails - sniff whenever the nausea swells.

Put slices of lemon in your glass of water.

And eat! Avocados I found didn;t repulse me and they are healthy so you feel less guilty when you follow them up with a doughnut
