any advice on avoiding them? this is my 3rd pregnancy - and i don't want to end up with those shriveled wrinkled-balloon things that point to the floor... Someone said sleeping in a bra helps?

I always sleep in a bra whilst pregnant/feeding as my boobs get HUGE. Have had 3 babies and breastfed them all and mine are not too bad (wouldn't go topless though...) - mind you I am very small of nork when not pregnant/feeding so not too much there to sag.

Sorry to disappoint you but I think the only way to avoid the sag is to not breast-feed!! My boobs were a DD and went up to a G in pregnancy and are now a D but are true spaniels ears. They are puckered monstrosities whilst still being a reasonable size (they just disappear under my armpit when I lie down). I ALWAYS slept in a bra.

Sorry !

I'd go with becklespeckly and wear your bra constantly. But not one of those ridiculous cotton M&S maternity ones that wouldn't contain a fly if you are 'endowed', I wear my shock absorber no4 sports bras - total control - utterly unsexy but support is what is called for, and oil them every night.

They came out ok from preg 1, am preg again and have the boobs of a 'porn star' according to DH, he is in awe!!! And I'm back in the sportsbras for the duration! I'm a 32D and have never had those lovely firm breast, they have always disappeared into my armpits, but DH loves them anyway

It's like with stretchmarks, they bother us but men dont seem to care.

Personally, I think most of the damage is done through pregnancy itself and not necessarily through breast-feeding ...

... I couldn't (even though I tried) and I still ended up with everything going south ... went up hugely in size and have v. stretchy skin!!!

...so there may be hope for you!!

There's always cosmetic surgery!!!

My boobs are crap usually so no-one will notice but I am desperate to get my flat stomach back (although I realise at 31 weeks pg I may have to wait a while )

Agree totally with 100years Bfing my babies was so lovely it is worth a little sag. They are softer than before but still look nice in a bra, DH certainly doesn't complain!

Also agree with Counting that pregnancy itself does most of the damage, have heard the same from 'experts' too. Mine changed even with my first pregnancy which unfortunately ended in m/c.

All good advice - thanks for the tit sorry tip about the sports bra salleroo - might have to get myself one of those.

Absolutely detest the maternity bras. As part of the aqua natal classes i went to for the first two - the instructor made us wear our bobbled mothercare maternity bras over our swimming cossies. nearly died of embarrassment - especially as it was in a public pool ...

... and is it bf-ing that gives you sticky-out nips ... constantly - regardless of how you erm... feel or how cold it is?!
