This baby moves so much! It is painful and I don't think I like it!

When I was pregnant with DD she hardly moved and I was up and down to the hospital. I would have done anything to have a baby that moved more!

But this is the opposite. Obviously I am glad baby is healthy etc but it is moving too much!

The movements are really definate - I can see legs and arms coming out my belly! I didn't have anything like this before! It is quite painfull and feels like the baby is going to come out! And from my Bump not where it is meant to come out!

Has anybody else had this? It also always seems to be in my right side!

I had it in spades with DS. It was really, really uncomfortable, and often positively painful. He never stopped, and is still the same now he's 6.8!

DD was much quieter in utero, and is likewise now she's 4. So beware!!

needtodohousework · 04/02/2009 22:34

Well my DD was quiet inside but was the most hyper, over active baby ever! So was hoping this one was the opposite!

Oh god yes, with DD she kicked the crap out of me. I would be physically winded. But DS was totally different! It tends to be when they are in a horrid position, try getting down on hands and knees - that should shift the little bugger!

And next time be careful what you wish for

I used to be in agony with both of mine in the latter part of the pregnancies. Specially at night. Right up by the ribs and in my sides, it really was painful. Getting down on all fours does help sometimes.

AnathemaDevice · 05/02/2009 08:44

This baby does seem to be very wiggly, and quite uncomfortable at times, but, as it's my first, I just assumed that it was supposed to be like this!I was convinced at one point that s/he was trying to get out through my belly button...
Glad I'm not the only one with a wonky bump though, mine is also more on the right side, right under my ribcage. To be honest though, I wouldn't change it, I like knowing the baby is ok in there, I can put up with a bit of a kicking for a few more weeks!

needtodohousework · 05/02/2009 08:46

OK I have woken up today with bruises on the side of my bump from the baby!!! And I don't bruise easily at all - hardly ever in fact!

I can soooo relate to this. I am only at the 6 month mark but this time around the baby seems to use my internal organs for target practice! I am not enjoying this pregnancy nearly as much as I did with ds which I am a bit sad about but half the time baby causes so much pressure and pain I wonder if I am in early labour!!!

heavenlylily · 05/02/2009 08:54

I'm getting the same thing this time round. Dd was not as much of a mover, am 35 weeks now and got a v strong mover and shaker inside there! At mw last week who said baby is presenting back to back at the minute, hence all the arms and legs kicking me in the front - could this be how your baby is lying? I'm trying not to sit slumped on settee and doing lots of sitting on gym ball and getting on all 4's as said above. You could try this to see if it encourages your little one to move?

madwomanintheattic · 05/02/2009 09:01

ds1 was like this - and i have to tell you he kicked and squirmed and fought his way out too - much to the midwife's horror. she spent most of the labour trying to work out how to get a monitor on my writhing mass of enormous belly with a pained expression on her face. she said in a concerned and disbelieving way 'is baby always like this?' oh yes. sigh.
in comparison, dd2 was virtually silent and like you i spent a lot of time worrying. no-one really listened at the time, but she was in v poor condition at birth and has lifelong issues to contend with...
on balance, however uncomfortable, i'd stick with wriggly... bit i do understand how deeply unnerving and uncomfortable it is lol x

Bumperslucious · 05/02/2009 09:04

Don't worry, I didn't like DD moving either. Everyone went on about how special and lovely it was and I just found it uncomfortable and distracting!

NorktasticNinja · 05/02/2009 09:07

DD was a very still baby (worryingly so) but I suspect this one is going to the the same as yours needtodohousework. I'm only 22 weeks and he's bumping about all over the place already...

needtodohousework · 05/02/2009 16:28

I like to feel her move, but just not bash me so hard!

35 weeks and feeling painfull kicks and turns. its nice when the babys moving gently and i know she or he is okay but when im trying to sleep and its painfull and feels extremely uncomfortable it gets abit much sometimes. everyonce else seems to sit quite still im jumping out my seat most of the time lol xxx

brettgirl2 · 05/02/2009 17:07

I am 31 weeks and mine has been going mad today - I've been working from home and I think she's bored because there is nothing to listen to like there usually is. I keep on yelping!

You can't win though because when they have a quiet day that is really unnerving too.
