'morning' sickness and teeth cleaning

how do you manage? Every time I try to clean my teeth I end up throwing up. I've even stopped using minty toothpaste as it makes it worse, now using kids strawberry stuff but still can't manage it. Haven't cleaned my teeth properly for days and I feel skank . Utterly bored of random morning sickness but also grateful as it's normally a good sign I believe.

Have you tried ginger? It's meant to help nausea/sickness, maybe chew some or have ginger tea then clean em quick!?!

I was ok as long as my toothbrush didn't go too far back, my back teeth didn't get much of a brush for a while, but the front ones were ok.

I know what you mean I couldnt clean my teeth without feeling very sick either. Even now to brush my teeth feels pretty horrible even though the morning sickness went a while ago. Try without toothpaste and chewing gum that you can handle the flavour of.

I try to brush mine in shifts, some one morning til I feel sick, then some others nexrt morning. I was at the dentists the other week and she was telling me that if you have really bad morning sickness it can sometimes be counterproductive to clean your teeth too much anyway, as you are brushing away enamel weakened by the acid in your vomit.

Doesn't stop you feeling like a skank mind you, but I took some comfort from it!

I agree with chewing gum and lots of mouthwash.

Bizarly i also found cheaning my teeth in the shower with hot water helped loads.. saved time too

Don't scrub too hard, it was the actual brushing that triggered my gag reflex, so while I was pg my back teeth dinn't get cleaned aswell as my front, plenty of mouth wash

Still gag abit now though, the joys of motherhood

I found that having my cup of tea and ginger biscuits in bed, then having shower, then dressing and then brushing teeth worked most mornings - easier to bear than doing it first thing. Brush slowly and tentatively and stop immediately gagging starts! Also echo use of mouthwash.

with dd i didn't brush my teeth in the evening for several months but I felt ok-ish in the morning
This time (and i'm very early on) i'm finding it hard to brush them full stop.
Am quite worried as I had to have my 1st filling after dd and now to add to it I have fixed braces.....I'll prob end up with no teeth
