What the hell are these shooting pains up my vagina/rectum?

It's not fair I tell you, it bloody hurts!!

38 weeks, Baby 2/5ths engaged and having seen a Chiro to help my pelvis stay together, which thankfully is sorted, I now can hardly stand nevermind walk due to these pains

I didn't think subsequent babies engaged until near labour and this is no.4!

I haven't had the pains in any of my other pregnancies, it can't just be me, so what explanation did anyone else receive?

Does it feel like a knife? Not a big sharp one but sort of a butter knife? Stabbings or pinchings?
I had this - it's to do with engaging, but I didn't have my baby for a couple of weeks.

They're NASTY, and nobody warns you about those....

I have been having them for nearly three weeks and I'm 40+3 with my second and I didn't get these the first time round. You have my sympathy, but unfortunately no advice.

Yes to knife pain, like a red hot knife and stabby.

Have had SPD but I'm being well maintained with Chiropractic sessions so I don't think it's that at this stage. Sympathy to everyone else who has it too.

M/w's only comment was "ooh! well not long now", which although true somehow just doesn't help much does it.

I could be delusional and hope that it's a sign that things might kick off, but tbh after 3 pg's, I know better than that.

Shame babies don't come with a countdown timer really isn't it?

Sounds nasty and enough to put me off any more. I hope they calm down a bit or the baby makes an appearance to end it all.

They are enough to make you jump and then hold on to something aren't they!
Only thing that made them go away was a big exhale and stay still for a minute if possible - moving again after one has 'passed' made have another!

They are quite intense & shocking.
No option but to stop and wait for it to go tbh.

I think she must be bobbing in/out of my pelvis to some extent because when I'm getting them I can visibly see that the whole bump is verrrrrry low.

Then, a bit later, the same movement doesn't produce that kind of pain but also the bump is a little higher, if that makes sense.

Oh yes I rememberthose - I used to get a weird buzzing in my cervix also when my babe was low and engaged. Not entirely unpleasant !
