i started bleeding at 22weks 3days and didnt stop..at 24wks 3days i had my beautiful baby girl weighing 1pound 8ounce she did really well for 1 week n then got a NEC infection which she couldnt fight sadly she passed on day 11 it has been four months now..

i hav been to my postnatal app with my consultant they found no infection in blood or placenta all they said was the placenta could have been slowly tearing from my uterus as i had spotting at 12weeks and then 19weeks aswell

has anyone heard of this happening to anyone else?and also had a normal pregnancy after that?i already have 1 daughter who is now 2 and pregnancy was a breeze with her my water brke at 37weeks but was all ok as its classed full term

HI Rumbly, no experience as my ds was born at 28 wks but for differnet reasons.
So sorry for the loss of your dd.

Have you tried posting this on the premature section on Mumsnet? There maybe someone there who ahs experienced similar.
Have you contacted BLISS, they may be able to put you in touch with someone who has been through similar

maybe you would benefit from speaking to someone outside of the family, it is often easier to talk. No matter how supportive your family outside help can often be helpful.
Don't try to be brave & cope on your own. Can the dr's offer you any reassurance about the risk of the same thing happening again.

the docs have basically said they can just keep an eye on me nextime they have offered scans of cervix and progestrone pessairies all after 16wks but really if thr was a problem with placenta they cant do anything and neither can they stop early labour when bleeding they never offered me the fluid to stop contractions bcos of bleeding

luckily i didnt loose too much blood and recovered ok as my baby was head 1st so she was delivered normally but the waters in tact

if u dont mind y did u have ur baby at 28wks?

He stopped moving & when i went to the hospital for monitoring the following day his heartbeat was very weak & have unprovoked decelarations.
He was foun in severe distress & I was rushed to theatte for an emergency C section.

He is 6 now & does have some long term disabilities as a result but all things considered he is doing very well.

We had a very positive outcome & although i coped very well at the time (i think you naturally do) a couple of yrs later I found i really needed to talk about the trauma of it all. Not meaning to sound dramatic as i'm not usually like tht at all.

Like you I wondered if it would happen again, my ds1 was born big, fat & healthy at full term!
I was assured there was no reason it should happen again, but like you was told I would be monitored.

I guess you just have to have faith in the DR's & close monitoring.

Yes, my second pregnancy ended in PROM & preterm labour caused by bleeding from a subchorionic haematoma/abruption. Baby was too young to survive.

I also had a PROM in my first pregnancy (baby was fine) but no bleeding that time. Third pregnancy was uncomplicated & my son was born heathily at full term, next pregnancy ended with an unexplained intra-uterine death at 20 weeks. I'm now 23 weeks into my fifth pregnancy (scans every two weeks, progesterone pessaries, clexane/aspirin, doppler scans & cervical checks).

It's bloody hard & many days I don't believe I'll get a live baby out of this one either, but I'm still trying (insanely - this will be the last time though).

hi thnx for all your responses there is hope then?im sorry joyfuleyes to hear of your loss and i hope this 1 goes well but y r they giving you pessaries does ur cervix open up?

my labour was abt 6 hours with 1st n this time it was a long 18hours as my water hadnt brke my cervix opened to 2cm and stayed there 1 hour b4 i delivered it was still 1.5-2cm so wen i did dialate it was fast but bcos my water was thr it was bit hard to push baby the contractions were vey severe i was so traumatised by the labour but bcos my dd was alive i stayed strong for her and carryd on goin and wen she died it was such a shock to me mentally and physically

were trying again now but i am basically crapping myself literaly i dont knw how im gona get through the weeks ure pregnacy after loss must have been a long one?
