What did you find worse? First or Third trimester

No doubt been asked before but I was just wondering which people found the most difficult the first or third trimester?

I thought nothing could be as bad as the first, I was constantly tired, always crying and ended up in hospital with dehydration due to morning sickness.

Now at 34 weeks pg I think the third trimester has got to be the worst. I haven't slept properly in weeks, got constant heartburn and midwife has confirmed I now have symptoms of pre-eclampsia (high bp and protein in my urine).

In comparison the second trimester was bliss (all excluding a car crash).

So in your opinion whats the worst trimester?

First because of nausea and sickness, 3rd because of extreme pelvic pain, shortness of breath and pre eclampsia.......both completely counteracted by my extreme excitement and gratitude for all symptoms and prospect of having a beautiful gorgeous baby of my own after 2 M/Cs.

I think I found the 3rd trimester worse due to my size! I was short of breath and the last few weeks dragged on.

The pregnancy on a whole was ok, its the giving birth (c-section) and looking after the baby after that I find hardest of all!

I think for me the first trimester was much worse. I didn't have bad morning sickness, but I was just SO tired, a sort of complete lethargy that I had never experienced before. And I had to pee every 10 minutes. And I felt anxious about everything. I put on over a stone in the first 3 months, so nothing fitted, but I didn't have a bump, just looked and felt exhausted and fat! And I was teaching a very lively Reception class without being able to tell anyone about the pregnancy.

The third trimester was fine, if a little uncomfortable. I was drinking a bottle of Gaviston a day, but had no other real problems. By then I was loving being huge and felt so excited, and ds came 2 weeks early, so I didn't have to go through the really uncomfortable last few weeks.

1st was horrible. Morning sickness kicked in with a vengeance in wk 7 - the week OFSTED started. I had to own up at being pg then as I had a feeling I would not make it. Just managed it though! For 2 weeks I could not see or smell food. By week 12 I was weak, exhausted, depressed, anxious and crying hysterically. Took a week off work just to get on an even keel.

I was easily tired right up to about wk 26 then things got good for, say, 3 weeks and then I started to retain so much water in my legs that I could just barely walk. Ended up having to take another week off with sciatica.

Baby engaged at 37 wks (last Sunday) and the oedema is still there but better. And I can eat and breathe better so have gotten my enery back. Feeling v. comfortable right now except its a bit off a faff to turn in bed and to get out of it.

please let the 1st have been worse (I'm approaching the 3rd one now!)

I had a very easy 1st trimester (don't hate me everyone! ) with not a shred of sickness - was just more tired than usual - but emotionally very anxious due to previous m/c. Anxiety got worse in 2nd trimester and peaked about 22/23wks. Now (32 weeks) I'm less anxious (still terrified something will go wrong, but aren't we all?) and still having a physically easy time, but am beginning to get a taste of what's to come - bending down to do handwashing today gave me backache and sent my pulse soaring. And tiredness and bladder problems are starting to kick in...

The whole pregnancy was terrible. the first trimester was probably slightly worse but 2nd and 3rd came close behind.

Third, third, third, third.

I couldn't sleep for the last eight weeks of my pregnancy because of massive back problems - I woke up every 45 minutes all night every night. It was such a relief when my waters broke - took me a couple of minutes to realise that although my endless back problems were now over, I was going to have to go through the birth thing fairly shortly.......
